I was hauling ass on the highway late on night and I basically just opened up my car. Just needed to get it out of my system but my foot was all the way down on the gas pedal at WOT and after reaching about 110mph i slowed down but I the gas pedal was stuck. When I woudl press it I felt pressure like there was air but it wouldnt give the car some gas. I dropped it back to OD and Drive again but still got stuck. After 10-15 seconds driving with the pedal stuck it finally let go...
what happened? And this has happened before and its always when im at WOT. Oh btw I have a 52mm TB if that helps...thanks  |

Sounds like you either have a cable hanging up, or the throttle blades binding. In any even, I'd want that fixed ASAP. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

Accidently engaging the cruise control is a hoot. The car started accellerating leaving me saying WTF An application of the brake quickly resolved the issue. Quick reflexes and learned experiences have you going through the 1) Put it in neutral 2) Shut down the engine then you lose steering and braking power 3) Apply the emergency brake. It's amazing how I react under pressure. Sometimes I do the right things, sometimes I don't. You have to keep running senarios through your head and have quick reactions to avoid potentially hazardous situations. Like when someone cuts you off. If you have to think about it, it's already too late.
So, Did you isolate the problem? |

I reask - WHAT YEAR?
If you have ASR (1992+), the ASR motor coulda fouled up, or the cable from the ASR... Even the cruise control cable coulda fouled up... |

I don't really see how a TB can bind open at WOT. Ones I've seen tend to hang up when closing, that's when the bore/butterfly alignment is critical.

[quote] I've had that problem. Someone cut me off and it took me too long to react.......by the time I got the gun up he was already too far away for a clean shot. |
