Barrett-Jackson on their best day couldn't hype it up enough to get that kind of money out of it. Ridiculously over priced even if economic times were good.

Factory transmission coolers are marginal at best. A good cooler will greatly extend transmission life. Excessive heat is their worst enemy. I add additional cooling to any AT equipped vehicle I own, stock or modified.

Well if cost were no object, I've always wanted one of these.

An Auburn boat-tail Speedster, supercharged version of course.

And this is where a metacrawler lives.

I don't have a picture of a metacrawler, they're very shy and elusive.

Later opti? I doubt very much it's hurt. They're sealed pretty well and as long as the venting hoses are in place and in good shape, it should be fine. Check for moisture in the opti connector and also at the coil and coil module connectors too. Clean them with electronics cleaner or something similar and let them dry.
I've really seen very little trouble from later optis and not as much as some would have you believe from the early ones for that matter.

First couple of questions...

I was told that the oil pump driveshaft gear should be replaced due to a weak nylon piece. Does this apply to the LT1? If so whats a good replacement part?

I don't know that there's an upgraded replacement for the pump drive. There might be but I've never heard of one if there is. More Performance (who's no longer in business) offered an "oil pressure saver" which is just a hardened steel reinforcement plate that goes over the top of the pump drive and comes with a longer bolt. The torque spec with this is increased to 18#, up from 14# for the stock bolt. A dab of Loctite recommended here too. Maybe you can find one of these, I've used one for years.
And yes, due to the composite type material the pump drive is made from, replacement is always a good idea. It becomes brittle with age and can unknowingly crack when retightening.

George W Bush should continue to be blamed until such time as there is a new Republican in the white house to blame.

Fugly. Doesn't do a thing for me. The best Corvette designs, from an aesthetic standpoint, have never been overstated.

It will be in your owner's manual if you have it. Also the parts store should be able to look it up by application. Or you could just remove the old one before you go to get it.

There's nothing wrong with using a little lube on a hose when needed. I've done it many, many times without leaks or any other problems. But don't use oil based products as they deteriorate rubber. I often apply a little bit of Gojo as it's usually nearby, the white creamy type, not the gritty type. O-ring lube will work too, if you have some of it around.

That's what they are. If you don't want them, they're worth a nice chunk of change.

Hey, is there a UserCP function with Last Post links?

Welcome to the board!

When you are logged in, go to "User Menu" on the left and click on "View Account" - you'll see your most recent posts underneath. Is that what you wanted, or you want most recent from all? If you want most recent from all, they are on the home page.

Matthew

I think he means a "last" or "newest" post in a thread link to use when viewing from a forum page. I think that would be useful too. If there is one, I've not been able to find it either.
