I don't recall, been a long time since I had my C3. But, the C4's have a tab on the struts that the connector goes on.

Somewhere on your defrost grid or struts, there has to be a tab to connect to, small, brass, about 1/4 x 3/16ths, I would think.

If (cause I'm not sure) the connection was on the struts and someone replaced the struts with aftermarket ones that didn't have the connection, it will be harder to find.

wouldn't that make it easy LOL but I dont have the Collectors Edition so my window is stationary and the edges are hidden behind the trim.

thanks though

Some of them GM products sure can go the distance... On my 90 Chev 3/4 ton I put 274000 miles on it before she blew. An those wernt easy miles most were put on pulling a 20' goose neck trailer loaded with 20k pounds of seed.

A single-wire has to be self-exciting. The ones with that plug aren't, and should need it hooked up.

***The alternator does work with out the plug as that is how it is right now***

Have you verified the voltage before and after the car sits? Have you measured the current draw? Is it possible its draining as you drive?

***Yes the voltage is within .2v of where it was***

***The alternator puts out a consistant 15.3V***

The only way I can see the alt draining your battery while sitting is if there's a short inside it somewhere.

***???***

Did you have issues with the previous alternator? Maybe it killed your battery. A battery with a weak cell will lose charge just from sitting, while still being good enough to start/drive the car.

***The previous alternator worked great I just wanted a chrome model, The battery is in perfect condition just had it tested.***

Battery Drain since new alternator

So I have a small problem.

I recently purchased a new chrome 1 wire alternator 100 amp model for my 82.

1st off it was said to be a one wire alternator and I will say it works that way but it also has the additional 2 wire plug.
Am I hurting anything by having that plug plugged into the alternator?

2nd Ever since installing this alternator I have noticed that my battery drains when the car is parked for extended periods of time ( say a week)
What could be the cause of this? Is there any way to check for this draw?

Thanks for everyones help.

I dont understanned why they have such abeef with some people over there. Im not banned and I still stop over there once and a while but if they keep this up all there going to have is the boring NCRS guys left.

Not that I care I like it here much more relaxed and fun.
