Yep. Got one of those we have to finish repairing. They are heavy boogers.

Well where do we start? I guess with the stereos. After buying, trading and selling, I currently am running a McIntosh MC-2205 (200 RMS wpc) and Pioneer SPEC (250 RMS wpc). Both are conservative ratings. They are combined with a McIntosh C-28 preamp. The 2205 is running 2 Klipsch Forte II speakers and the SPEC is running 2 Bose 901's. I know it is an odd combination of speakers, but they do complement each other quite well.

I was running 2 Hafler 9505 amps mono'd out to 700 watts RMS each. They are still here, just wanted to run the SPEC for a while.

I'm using a Bang & Olufsen TX-2 turntable with a new cartridge, an Akai GX-635D reel to rell, Mac MR-74 tuner and a couple of toys in between, such as a range expander and reverb amp for fun. This is the main system for now.

I just got a steal of a deal on some Paradigm 9seMK3 speakers that look brand new. Picked them up for $150. Man are these some awesome speakers. Great for some jazz and anything you really want hear with great staging. It is hooked to a Yamaha amp I picked up the other day.

I recently sold a McIntosh MC-2300 (300 RMS per channel), Marantz 2270 and like new Technics RS-1700 reel to reel. The Mac and Technics brought some nice bucks and pretty much reimbursed me for most of what I had spent. I still have some more items to sell and more to repair then sell. It is a fun (but heavy) hobby. Some of this equipment is quite heavy.

I had a heart condition last year and had to just quit messing with it for a while, as I did not feel up to it. Now I am back to my old ornery self.

Now onto guns. The wife and I went to class together get are concealed carry permits. It was a lot of fun and we enjoy going to the range together. I have since gotten on a 1911 kick.

Currently I own a Dan Wesson CBOB, Kimber Crimson Ultra Carry II, Kimber Pro Carry II, Metro Arms American Classic II, Dan Wesson PM-9, S&W 5906, Bersa Thunder .380, Bersa UC-9, Beretta Tomcat .32,and my old wheel guns - S&W Model 58 .41 magnum, S&W .38 special, S&W .455 Webley. I've probably left something out, but that is most of it. I've also got my Kimber .22lr conversion kit which is a blast to use on my 1911's. Also much cheaper to use.

Nothing is more relaxing than going to the range firing a couple hundred rounds.

Work has been extremely slow for the last 2 1/2 years like everyone else. This past week things have really started picking up and things are looking better.

My son will be 5 next month and it is really enjoyable watching him change and grow. I'm really glad I didn't have a child until later in my life. I have more time to spend with him at 53 than I did when I was in my 20's working 12-14 hours a day.

That kind of sums up my new hobbies. I look forward to hearing back from some of you on your stereo equipment and guns. I'm getting ready to refinish my basement and can't wait to get what equipment I have and more in place.

Cheers,
Oaklands

I am getting the code 46 in my 88 vette. Is there a simple way for me to bypass this to get the car started?

Thanks for your help.

We have been w/out a kitchen for the last 10 weeks. It seems a brand new dishwasher (Kenmore) that we bought from Sears decided to piss all over the place. The installer they contracted did a fine job installing it.

Apparently it did not fit properly, the motor was on the floor (fire hazard) and he left a handy dandy Craftsman flat head screw driver under it propping it up. The door was not closing properly and apparently water had been leaking back under it for a while unnoticed. Also, I think there was a problem with the cutoff valve.

So now we have our insurance company, Sears insurance company and the installers insurance company fighting over whose fault it is.

This left me with sub floor that had to be replaced, new tile to be installed, the cabinets fell apart when taking them out, so new cabinets as well. Not all of the cabinets are covered by my insurance.

It gets better. The contractor did not have Armstrong's cabinet man come out and measure, so we were ending up with less space than we had before. I thought we had it all worked out yesterday and today the contractor says he wants me to use fillers not bigger cabinets to fill the space. Man is he full of shit.

This thing is going to be the death of me yet. I know Johnny's lack of a kitchen was due to remodeling but you still have the same issues. Only mine, I have no sink, no stove and ton of bills to turn in for eating out!!

My wife and our went out to eat a while back and another customer was coming in as we were leaving. My 88 was sitting out front on the street and he was looking it over. He told me had a C6 and how he liked it, but added he thought mine was great looking for the age. He was very sincere and really admired it. His comment, "Hold on to that one!"

I did finally get this problem fixed. The computer was going bad. Good thing I bought a backup off e-bay last year. Put my eprom in the used one and it fixed my problem. It starts w/out a problem now, cold or hot.

Long time no talk to everyone. I've been on the road quite a bit lately.

I am on my 2nd 88 vette. The first was an automatic and I decided I wanted the 4+3. It is a lot more fun to drive and performs much better.

I have wanted a corvette since I was about 15 years old. I finally decided it was time. I grew around the C3's but liked the looks of the C4's even more. I have no regrets at all.

The wife and I were out eating last night and when we left a gentleman was admiring my car. He owns a C6. He kept commenting on what great shape my car was in. I told him it had 39k on it when I bought it and I got it for 8k. He was amazed and complimented me on getting such a great deal.

You can't beat the prices on a C4 and it gives you plenty of room to sink some money into it if you want without breaking you.

Sorry to hear about your dog. We had to put down one of our dogs around Christmas time.

Another busy day at work. Hope everyone is doing well. My stimulus check is supposed to be here by Friday. I wish United Nuclear would get there hydrogen project done and bring it to market. I would gladly put the check towards it if it were to seem worthwhile.

We have a soft economy today and I think it represents the general condition of the American people. They're too freakin soft. (That includes me). No more talk. It's time to roll up our sleeves, put away the rule books amd start getting something accomplished.

I had this conversation with someone the other day. Our American companies are outsourcing their labor to other countries to manufacture cars, tv's, etc... Now we are outsourcing our services. Something bad is going to happen one of these days and we will not have the labor forces to go back to producing our products.

I understand they have to do this to compete against the cheap labor in other countries. If proper tariffs had been set against these countries several years ago to balance the trade deficits, we would not be in this situation today. In order to balance it today we would see drastic price increases on products.

As you said, we ignored the problem and now it has gotten out of hand.

Yep, it is Friday again. It has been a beautiful week and now it is supposed to rain all weekend. That limits my chores to working on the vette in the garage! Time to see if replacing the ECM fixes my problem so CC can tell me, "I told you so!"

I took my boat to have a new cover put on the back and a fold-up bimini top across the front with screen panels. It will kind of like a screened in porch when we need it. Also going to invest in a new generator that is much quieter than the one I have now.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Keith

Our fuel costs haven't gone up more than anyone elses.

The deflating dollar hurts us, and you can blame a bunch of that on the pipedream real estate market that went unchecked. I don't think Iraqis had much to do with that.[/quote]

I touched on that subject in my 2nd comment.

Bailing out the banks is a sore spot with me as well. Greed and stupidity led to the problem. If things don't continue to pick up my business could go down the toilet this year. I don't think the government could give a crap if we close up and my few employees lose their jobs. I could hear the snickers now if I were to ask for a bailout.

The bad part about my situation is I am suffering due to these 2 factors which are out of my control. We'll help bailout large companies such as banks, airlines and automobile manufacturers but what about all the small businesses that are affected? Not a damn thing is ever done for these people.

Please don't take me wrong. I am not a person who looks for handouts in any shape, form or fashion. I have never even drawn unemployment and I am 51 years old. All I am saying is when other factors affect your business and those people get a bailout it doesn't do anything for a small business that is affected by their dilemma.

It's so comforting knowing these countries know they can count on us for help if there is a disaster or war, but they could care less about what is happening to our economy with the increased fuel costs.

The cabinets look good. I guess I will have to invite you down when we start redoing the basement!

The wife and I got to go out on a date Saturday night. The kid loved his new babysitter. He should, she is a very nice looking girl. That's my boy!! Anyway, I worked on getting my building out back organized a bit more. Now to move some more stuff from the basement out to it!! Today flew by and I didn't get much accomplished at work.

I hope everyone has a great week.

It's 6:45am EST and I am the only one on the forum. Can't imagine why no one is online this early on a Saturday morning. Of course my 2 1/2 year old boy is sick and slept with us last night. (A very rare occurrence we will let him do that) He is up so dad could not get any more sleep. Have a great day everyone!

We are at the $3.35 range in TN. I went to the marina this week and the pump was set at $4.25. Guess I will have to drop anchor in the marina's cove this summer!

Like a bad teen back in the 70's, I had a set of those hang on speakers in my 64 Thunderbird.
