One of my bulbs went out, so I was trying to find a replacement. 882 bulbs are difficult to find. A user over at the other forum, JoeC sent me to this place:

http://www.lightbulbsdirect.com/page/001/PROD/XXenon/X5G412V

Exactly what I needed. The 87 uses the bi pin base. I replaced the bulbs with a bit of excitement. When we put it together, all the segments were on. Not sure what was going on, but took it out, put it back in, and it worked!

Those bulbs are a touch brighter than the 882s, but are supposed to be cooler. So far, so good.

By the way, here's a decent deal I was directed to on ebay. The kit includes the bases, and has wedge type bulbs.

I bought 20 Sylvania 882s a while back from Amazon for $1.88 each! I bought 20 as that was all they had. Can't find them at that price anymore though. I repair these clusters for UK club members so they went to good use. I've got three working spares on the bench and still have 4 of the cheap 882s left, but will go with these Xenons next time I need some. Thanks for sharing the sources. BTW Jim Adams is the guy selling the kits on Ebay under the seller witchcity (from Salem, MA). A great guy to deal with. I've bought several LCDs from him and can recommend him.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give those a try next time I need replacements.
