I removed my altternator and DID NOT disconnect the BATTERY first. The hot lead on the back of the alternator sparked like wild while I was putting it back on. So THEN I got the bright idea to disconnect the negative cable. The jobs all done but now I have no dash lights no nothing, won't crank won't do anything can't even open the window. How do I FIX what i did ? Where do I start ?? Ill go put a jumpbox on it by the rare chance the battery is dead but it wasn't BEFORE I started this little project.

Fusible link. Check down on the BAT lug of the starter. The wire has a breakable point that blows like a fuse. It'll be obviously burned out like this...

Resized Image

...just pick up a new one and run it yourself.

Well I went outside and put a jump box on it. jump box was dead S I busted out the BIG battery charger it started flashing fully charged. Tightened the negativce cable and no change but dash light real dim. Snugged the positive cable whcih was loose why I have NO idea and now it fires right up..... When it fired up the fan was running though but it shut right off. I think I confused the mess out of the car or something. The passive keyless entry light came on but it went off and seems to be fine now. back to start it again LOL THANKS FOR THE LIGHTNING RESPONSE. GURRU is the BEST.......

Glad you got it worked out. I'd still double check all those fusible links and fuses as DB suggested.

You dodged a bullet dude... The electrical systems on these cars are real touchy.

The fan does come on at startup. It's part of the self test, IIRC.

I was a little concerned to say the least. I probably noticed the fan moreso than usual because the front bu,per cover is off and the hood was open.

When battery is disconnected, then reconnected, it always defaults to AC on when fired back up, which makes the fan run. You are fine. Dodged a bullet for sure.

The LT1 fans come in regardless at startup for a few seconds. I need to check why...

Yea, strange that they don't come on in "run" but you have to hit start. It has to be the ECM sending a command thru Quad Driver Cir.3 to ground the relays. Not much in the FSM that I can see, but it could be hidden in there some where.
