I don't think they're equipped for that amount of snow

Most folks around here (even thou they all drive Range Rovers or other big SUV's of some sort) aren't competent in driving them on dry pavement let alone snow...

I do my best to dodge them as they make their finest attempts to keep insurance rates high for everyone.

I grew up in DE... it took a day or three, but the worst was cleared quickly on the major roads.

Now... budget cuts really have taken their toll, for sure, but they have the plows and the ppl, just not the $$.

We have plenty of plow drivers in NOVA. They pay part time guys to clear residential roads and commuter parking lots. The county and state boys get the big roads cleared pretty good usually.

A fellow down the streets Cherokee got totaled last week by a part time employee's F350 pushing a plow. That plow peeled the entire drivers side off that Jeep like a tin can....

I did see that MORON Fenty on the tube earlier this week complaining about how they (D.C.) have already spent all their snow removal budget money....

I felt real bad for about a milla-second (I'm exaggerating a bit, it more like a nano-second) - Anyway, then I thought about that DC Police Detective who pulled a gun on some folks for hitting his HUMMER with a snow ball and I figured if they (D.C.) got $$$ to pay everybody enough to roll in Hummers what f'n difference does it matter if the roads were plowed or not....

I live within 30 minutes of Capitol Beltway and I will not be on it tomorrow morning if there is snow. People are idiots around here. However they are getting the de-icing and plowing of the snow down to an art in this area, so I'm not worried about snow covered roads too much.

I will drive in the snow and be careful while driving my Xterra, but my new Malibu has been far better in average snowfalls this winter. Actually on December 19th we had around 18" to 20" and we fared just fine with less hype than this storm is receiving. My biggest issue is getting down to the marina in the morning and making sure my sailboat is safe for the weekend. Snow is very heavy and it can wreck havoc on a boat sitting in the water at a pier.

Sitting in wait for the blizzard of 2010 -- LOL it probably won't be more than 6" (hopefully)

First Flakes fell at 11:00am EST. The little grocery store and shopping center across the street is a madhouse of last minute people getting stuff. Blockbuster Video has a line a mile long at the check out. I'm glad I can walk to all of these amusements!! I have at least 6 or eight bars also in short walking distance if things get really bad!
