I purchased a used set of 113 heads, the intention being to port, install larger valves and install, relacing the existing 113's. Yes, I've read all about the limitations of the heads but for several reasons that is my decision.
2.00x1.56 valves will be installed. I'm staying with the stock fel-pro 1204 size intakes. I think that will suit my LTR setup. I will use the fel-pro 1094 head gasket (.015 compressed) to bump comp. a couple tenths and hopefully put the quench hgt. at about .035-.040". My intake valve seats measure 1.75" I.D. which is 87.5% of intake valve dia. so those are staying as is. The exhaust seats need to be hogged out to 1.33". New guides and a 3 angle valve job will be done. I'm hoping this will compliment my new Hotcam install and all my other mods. Here are a couple pics. of my porting progress.

Wow those look nice. I wish I knew more about porting to comment on them properly.

Looking good, how do you like necking those guide bosses down? lol

Hey if you can do it yourself and have realistic expectations then more power to you, go for it.

Keep us posted on your results and progress.

The heads are at the machine shop. I had to drop the entire exhaust system to remove the headers as the collector connection is a slip joint. Those slip joints were a real challenge so I figure it's all downhill now.

I made good progress today. It helps that I had the TPI setup apart before so I have all the right tools. The smog junk is gone also so that helps. The bores look perfect, only 54k miles.

The machine work on the heads is complete and they look great.
In the meantime I picked up some spring seats designated for the beehive springs. Tpis says their "big mouth" base air flow is 208@.5" so I thought I'd open it up a bit. I'm happy with the result but glad that's over with.
I rented a spring compresser to transfer the hardware, but I'm back to my homemade job. I don't know if this large c-clamp contraption is for Mack trucks or what but it's too much for me. oh well.

What is the total cfm flow? Did they say?

I'd love for my new edelbrock to look like yours once completed.

More progress. I purchased new head bolts as the threads on the O.E.'s were kind of rough looking and I didn't want any
question whatsoever about torque numbers.
Each spring needed a .060" shim to acheive the 1.70" installed height.

So far I remembered the little things like shimming up the fuel rails slightly to cut down on injector noise. Also sequence (don't install the plenum until the TV cable is laid inside). I painted the intake bolts with some leftover silver valve cover paint. Looks better than black, I think. Also cut some unused mounting bosses off the intake base.

I put about a hundred miles on the car today. It sounds and feels great. I'm looking forward to putting the drag radials on. 2nd gear is a lot stronger. I let the auto. shift for itself (about 5500) but I held it in gear a couple times to 6k and all is good (3.07 rear). I'm waiting on a call for a dyno tune, the iceing on the cake. Engine mods. are complete. Now if I can just keep the car in one piece....

Wow, I'm jealous. So it flows nice all the way to 5500?
