I've been using GM 1#12346004
Pipe Sealant with PTFE with good results ..a little seems to go a long way...I've been using the same tube for 3 or 4 years ... |

What exactly are you looking for/using it for? I looked up loctite 545 and that's super expensive stuff for high pressure hydraulic systems. Did you mean loctite 565?
https://jdparts.deere.com/partsmkt/doc ... hreadSealants_Loctite.htm The ARP thread sealant I have is for things like water pump bolts, etc - it's high temp and high pressure. Matthew |

It was 565, sorry. I mainly wanted something good to seal the intake rocker studs with. I have to remove the 3/8 studs from the AFR's and install my 7/16 studs. 565 is probably over kill but that's kind of my nature. |

I've never compared them side by side but they are probably the same thing.

IMO, the teflon liquids/pastes are all pretty similar and pretty much give the same results. I have a few types here and see no difference. I have been using the using permatex version, locktite, ARP, and vibra tite (parker/earl), and I end up using the first one in reach.

I use the permatex.
Tried the ARP one time and it didn't seal very well. I haven't had a problem with the permatex |
