Does anyone know of a GM car that came with the LT1 engine, that didn't put all the accessories on the passenger side? I know the Corvette was unique, but did all the other models share the same passenger bracket only design?
I'm looking for some LT1 brackets that split the accessories between both sides, moving the A/C compressor away and above the passenger engine mount. |

Camaro, Firebird, Impala, Roadmaster, Cadillac deVille.
Those are the other cars with the LT1. |

From the pics here, the Impala has something mounted over on the passenger side, but I am not sure what:

It sounds like the B Body (Impala/Caprice/Roadmaster/Deville) accy drive would work best for you. These are the most plentiful as well since they came in big numbers with the little 4.3L Gen II.
The Altenator and AC Compressor are on the passenger side. Altenator up top and the AC Compressor below it. Altenator is kinds high up thou and could be a problem if hood height is limited. I was looking for a setup that moved the A/C compressor up top. This project car is actually a show car Impala, old school, with an LT1 out of Camaro. The A/C compressor is down low on the passenger side and is a problem for the owner. I'm wanting a setup...maybe the Vette is the only one, where the A/C compressor is moved up higher. Height isn't an issue, neither is width. It's that damn A/C compressor. |

the vette is the only one that is on the driver side. the caprice/impala is similar to the fbody one but it doesnt tuck the accessories back as far. the only ac i have seen up tp aside from a vette is something like a march or street perfomance setup. but as you probably know they are big bucks.

So an Impala / Caprice bracket set would be similar to the F-body setup, just not as tight and compact? Might have to look into that so the poor guy doesn't have to buy solid gold Corvette brackets that come with a Corvette tax and a tax on that tax. Thanks for the heads up. |
