i will be going from 2.73 to 3.75 gears with my miniram, auto combo. the cam is a cc 280xfi hyd roller. i usually shift it @6k. it's a d/d w/ some hwy use but mostly city driving.
just curious how it worked out for others who have it. any comments are appreciated |

Welcome to the site!
What else is done to the motor? My engine builder wanted me to go to 3.54s, but I currently have 3.07s. Mine is a street car as opposed to a drag racer. Some guys run out of steam with the bigger ratio gears, but if you shift at 6k you shouldn't have a problem. You will definitely lose some mpg if that matters to you, but off the line will be a huge difference. I noticed a big difference going from 2.59s to 3.07s. Matthew |

thanks for the response!
the engine has: 350 cubic in. cut air lid k/n filter 52mm throttle body miniram 1204 port size afr eliminator heads 180cc port, 58cc chamber 1.65 ratio roller rockers compcams 280xfi hyd roller cam 230/236@.05 113lsa total lift=.596/.591 thats all i can remember for now mileage is not that important i have been driving in D (3rd) on the freeway, to simulate the lower gear. it didn't seem to make that much difference at least in the instant mpg reading the cam/miniram combo seems to come alive around 2500-3000rpms i thought the gears might help a little around town |

It will make a difference...
However, if the car is a race focused car, who cares. The gear will really wake up that intake head combo. You will have to do something with the exhaust... |

throttle body is a reconditioned stock bored to 52mm
exhaust has been changed as well -- hedman elite long tube headers with pypes 2 1/2" true dual with x pipe, no cats should have filled out my signature earlier |

you may want to consider cats... they clean the air up, don't cost a lot in power loss, but will help by adding torque.

Youll want to match the miniram to a 1256 like AFR recommends and be conservative on it as the head entry has vertical walls that taper in some and more rounded corners than an intake will typically have. . A 1205 isnt too far off either.
