YAH!!! Early Christmas for me and my Vette!

Has anyone done this? Is it a royal pain in the ass?

The drivers seat is 11 way adjustable. My car now just has standard power seats.

Here is the pic. Thank you Stuart!!

The seats themselves are easy... the wiring for the lumbar and such... not so much.

Did you get all the console switches?

The switch in his car looks like
the one in BillH's car below. So maybe they aren't 11 way or whatever? Hopefully he doesn't mind me borrowing that picture from another thread.

Ok, so they are not sport seats.

If they have lumbar and the side bolsters that move, then you have a second set of switches.

On the early seats, they put buttons on the seat cushion. On the later ones, the buttons were moved to the console.

now, the standard power seats are 6 way - fore/aft; up/down; up/down front and rear.

The sport seats add the lumbar and side wings. This install with basic power is easy.

Could I not just put them on my existing tracks?

Those are base 94-96 seats.

Aren't the seat frames the same for all years? In which case all you do is install the plastic/leather part on your existing frames.

Nope, don't mind at all.

Here's a better pic of the switch, it's for the Std. seat.

And (if you didn't already know), there's a spring clip on the seat cushion in the front of the seat, just pop it down and the cushion will lift right out. that will give you access to the 4 bolts that hold the seat in, it's easy.

BTW, getting that spring clip popped back up can be a real bitch. It's real hard to do using your hand.

But, there's a trick. Take a 3 ft. piece of heavy string or even a spare piece of wire (like 18 ga.) and loop it around the spring clip. Lay the string towards the front of the car. Put the cushion in and put your knee on the front of the cushion with all your weight on it. Then, grab the string and pull it up hard. The spring clip should pop into place. May take a couple trys.

Does that mean that only the driver side is power? I know if I use my tracks then they'll both be power..more of a curiousity thing than anything...

I don't really care either but since I have the dual switches I will leave it as is.

I've never had a problem getting my seat bottom clipped back in. I have an 85 that I autocross. I'm too tall to sit in seat normal with helmet on so I take the seat bottom out when I race so I sit lower. Requires me to put it in and out fairly often

I'm thinking maybe the earlier C4 seat clips are easier to get on and off. I've had my seats out of my 90 2-3 times already and that clip has not been a problem. But just looking at the pic that Bill posted I can tell that his definetly holds on tighter than mine does.

So, what do you sit on? The carpet? Or did you pore a 2 part foam seat?
