Alan,

We are planning several cruises this year. At the end of March we are cruising to Bowling Green, then in April will be a local wine cruise and then later in May or June we will be doing the Tail of the Dragon. I'm thinking about changing Tail of the Dragon to the same week as Maggie Valley, NC "Vettes in the Vallery" and combining the two.

All Gurus are Welcome to any of my events. I have a whole year planned in advance. Just check out our website. click on events and see what floats your boat. I have so much to do... Not enough time!!

Well... sort of. We have a core group of people that get together each Nov/Dec and try to hash out some rough plans for the next year. As December and January roll by we firm them up as we go along. Most of the time these events have a chairperson that will take the lead role. However, as club president I am ultimately responsible for everyone to have a good time and to keep the good name of our club.

It looks like so far I am chairing the Spring Car Show, Tail of the Dragon cruise (I have never been there either, so I will need as much guidance from experienced cruisers), a Wine Cruise and also have taken on the role as lead timer Captain for our autocross events among many other little last minute get togethers. I try to not get involved in the organizational aspects of the autocross , drag races, and most of the competitive events as I have a really good Competition Chairperson that takes care of those events for us.

My job is typically Head Smoozer, boozer and womanizer!
Only kidding honey, about the womanizer part!!

Jeff, I have done that run, and it was a blast.

However, we did it in a full size Chevy truck pulling a trailer with a 1971 Charger on it.

I am not sure how far it is from me. I would guess it's about 3 hours.

Next time I drive up to see my dad you and I should get a beer or something. He lives in NE Penna.

Meet us in Bowling Green the end of March. We are doing a Museum tour on Sunday and a factory tour on Monday. We got a block of rooms too. Just let me know if your coming. I'll post the details in the events section later tonight.
