I know this is going to sound strange and maybe a little crazy.
I've found a set of Brembo 4pot calipers. They came off a Mustang SN95, and include the mounting brackets. Now what little I know is the PBR J55 calipers are the same as the Mustang SN95 Cobra calipers. What should I ask about the mounting brackets to determine if they would fit? Yea I know get 6 pot calipers, etc, etc, etc. But these are $600 vs $1600! |

Wow, it's strange that they're the same as J55s but anything's possible.
The mounting brackets would have to fit the C4 spindle and would have to have the right dimension so that the caliper would be centered on the disc. Interesting swap though. |

Im working on swapping 4 pot brembos from a 10-11 Camaro SS onto my C4. Definitely not a bolt on proposition. I have all the parts on hand and it looks like it should work. Machining/fabricating the mount bracket will be challenge.

Mounting bracket is the hardest part of the swap when you are adapting different brakes. It has been done before with the C5/C6 calipers which is why it's such a popular upgrade (and can be inexpensive). I'm looking forward to seeing some other options if you guys make them work!

The J55 brake set up is exactly the same caliper and pad used on the SN95 Cobra. What I do not know is, is if the abutment bracket mount to the spindle is the same size and distance. Never cared to find out. Quote:
Without seeing a picture of what pieces you are using it could be easy to fab a bracket, or you could play hell. What will help tremendously is if the caliper is radial mount instead of a axial mount. The other consideration is what rotor you are planning on using and the offset needed to get the caliper to center on that location. |

I can't tell from the pictures in the ad if they are radial or axial.
The abutment bracket looks similar to ours where the mounting holes are concerned. I'm am 90% sure its a little different. I'll ask if they are axial or radial mount. Radial is better to have a new abutment bracket created - correct? He said he used 13" rotors which should match up with the Corvette j55 rotor using a proper abutment bracket. Comeon its $600 |

They are NOT radial mount.
I may get a SN95 cobra caliper mount bracket and see if the holes line up |
