The OE door seals on my '91 have a thin membrane over a very absorbent core. Why they were made this way I don't know. My seals are in excellent condition for their age, but naturally the membrane has some holes in it(including at the plastic anchor points). About the only water the car sees is from washing but enough water is absorbed into the seals that I can squeeze a couple ounces out of them on a perfectly dry car two weeks after it's been wet. Weird.

I've noticed that on mine, but never put much thought into it. Maybe new weatherstripping would solve that?

Mebbe worth a try. Might just live with it till I put on some new ones. Here's a shot of water squeezed out of an otherwise O.K. looking piece.
