I will be porting the early style of the LT1 intake to match the AFR heads. On AFR's website it says to use a different intake gasket. I just want to make sure there aren't hidden cavities that I might find.

nope. The intake is dry with the LT1 and the egr is all in the back.

You won't be cutting out all that much material, either.

Here are few shots of my intake after it came back from Lloyd Elliot. Since then my latest engine builder cleaned up this work a little bit more for me, but you will see there is a good deal of material removed from the inside as well as the ports and runners.

My Advanced Induction ported intake is setup for a monoblade TB if I ever get around to buying one
