So I am grafting in a C4, 1990 front and rear suspension to my 59' Vette. The car was aquired froom some one who wanted to turn it into a drag car. So I have a good reference point, what is the frame height off the ground (assuming that we are using stock tires).
So bottom of frame to ground. Thanks guys for the help. |

The book "vette specs" lists "rocker panel to ground" at 6.9".
The rocker panel is the jacking point so that is the frame albeit the frame flange. Mine's more like 5". |

Ok, so I wanted to make the bottom of my frame be 6" to the ground. Is that acceptable or can I go lower? As low as 5", would that be possible for the frame? Not the body itself?
Thanks guys. |

You can go as low as you want but at some point you're going to start scraping everywhere. And the stiffness of the springs & shocks will affect this. And when determining the suspension mounting points, you don't want the rear end, halfshafts and stub axles in a straight line.
