Friend of mine does custom cams. To get the most out of your setup an off the shelf cam just does not do it.
His prices are competitive and each cam is custom taylored to the customers wants and application. Volatile Cams will be doing all of my cams from this point forward. Email them for anything you need valvetrain related volatilecams@gmail.com Attach file: volatilesignature-2.jpg (28.68 KB) |

I know Will uses a custom grinder, too. I wonder how they compare price/quality wise?

I prefer custom cams aswell opposed to off the shelf stuff.
I've been using Joey @ www.americancustom.cam for 30 yrs, never got a bad cam... I just tell him what I am working on , give him the specs. I want and that's it! Then again I do give my customers other cam options too |

This company, Volatile, and its owner, Russ, have helped me learn more than I can even comprehend sometimes and worked with me for a month specing out a cam that would work well for autox/roadracing in my vette. He devotes hours on end to each cam all based on head flow, max rpm, NA or FI, Injection or carb, nitrous.
He always recommends the 4/7 swap in Gen 1 and 2 sbc which is also the plan. |

IMHO, I suggest that regardless of what cam you get, take the time to have an expert check it out before you install it. Seen lots of issues in this dept .
