1992 LT1, replacing the head gaskets.
Have a set of LT1 heads that were milled from 54cc to 52cc
Would like to keep compression as close to stock as possible.

So what thickness head gasket should I look for?
Any particular brand?

TIA!

I'd just go with the GM stock replacements which are .049" You'll have to do the math to be sure, but I can't see you going beyond a tenth or two of gain beyond the SCR of 10.4:1. In other words, you won't go beyond 10.6:1 at the most. I've run as high as a 11.3:1 SCR in my LT1 with no issues whatsoever. I'm currently running right at 11:1 with no problems. It's a daily driver and is quite happy on 93 octane pump gas.

Wasn't sure if I needed to go a little thicker or not.

Anyone have a reason for not going with something like the Felpro 9966PT
"Head Gasket, PermaTorqueMLS, Chevy, 5.7L, LT1/LT4" ?

Going with new ARP head bolts, lube and sealant.

Thanks!

I'll check this in the AM before I head out to Summit tomorrow.

Some math that is pretty close 5700/8=712.5cc per cylinder

712.5/10.4=68.5cc if take away 2cc from head milling you end up with 66.5cc

712.5/66.5=10.7 compression ratio...

10.7 should not be a problem, just use standard gasket

BTW GM head gasket 10168457 has a compressed thickness of .050 per the GM performance parts catalog..Pretty sure this is the OEM LT1 head gasket for aluminum heads

I personally would use the LT4 gasket. It has a steel fire ring. As far as I know, it will fit.

The LT4 head gasket is .043...this would give him an even higher compression ratio which he is not after...
