Thought I would show you guys some teaser pics...

We just about have the new Real Street Legal nitrous kit installed on the 84. Should be finished wiring everything by this weekend. Gonna use weather pack connectors on everything.

Resized Image

This is an old Barry Grant Nitrous Works 2 Stage kit that we converted to a single stage. 32 hole spray bars in this bad boy.... an 82 jet is about 250hp hit. This kit uses -6 AN lines for fuel and NO2.

Everything in the new fuel system is plumbed.

Resized Image

5 gallon fuel cell from BD racing. Russels -12 AN feed line to an Aeromotive A2000 fuel pump with an Earles -12 AN fuel filter... Russels -10 AN from the pump up to the fuel log which houses 2 Holley fuel pressure regulators (1 for the carb and 1 for the NO2 system). Russels -8AN return line from the pump to the cell and -8 AN lines feed the carb as well...

My electronics are a little old school but (for $$$ reasons) I had to work with what the car aleady had on it to save money and I just happend to have a bunch of old school NO2 and timing control stuff laying around the shop.... On the ignition system I'm running a MSD 6AL hooked to an MSD 8980 Timing Computer... MSD billet dizzy and HVIC coil. NO2 is on a WOT trigger relayed to a Ford starter solenoid.

Right now we are working on fabricating some NO2 bottle brackets so that I can mount (2) 10lb NO2 bottles in the passenger seat (Kirkley) and then remove the bottles/brackets easily for street cruises and non racing drives.

We should be able to test the car and sort out the NO2 tune up as early as this weekend but we are probally gonna wait to take it to Renyolds GA on the Presidents Day weekend.... After that the car come home to VA permanantly and I'll ready for the Real Street season to start at 75-80 Dragway.... Whenever they finally decide to publish the schedule.

You have to run 2 bottles with a nitrous kit like this one.... Even on a medium jet like I'm running right now, it's a big help in being consistant. On the big jet I'll be running next season, 2 bottles are an absolute.

They use so much volume during a run, that 1 bottle would have to be topped off every pass to keep bottle pressure up all the way thru the next pass...

Plus with this much NO2 and fuel flowing thru the engine, bottle pressure is really important.... Most people only think about the destructive capability of NO2 if a kit goes lean but if the bottle pressure were to go down and the kit goes too rich, you can pinch the piston ring lands and bend connecting rods.

When everything is done with the install inside the car, I'll post up some more pics.

Having a hard time finding more nut-certs local... We used them for everything on the fuel system with it all being contained in the rear subframe, which worked out real nice... I want to use them for the bottle bracket mount in the seat but I may have to settle for bolts, nuts and washers just to make the pre-season test sessions.

I get mine (and all my A-N bolts) from Aircraft Spruce.

Usually same day shipping. I get then out of Ca. but they also have an East Coast warehouse.

Bottle mounts are installed and everything is ready to go racing/testing on Saturday (provided the weather stays nice in South GA).

Resized Image

The gauge under the pass dash is an NO2 pressure gauge.. it is attached to the NO2 Y-Block (which along with all the ignition and electronics) is all hidden under the dash on the interior firewall where the heater/AC box use to be.

Will bring the camera with me Sat, so (as long as we test) I'll have some video of the car in action.

I really have to thank my brother as he put alot of hard work into getting the car up to snuff for me.... That is even HIS fuel pump off of his X275 car... I would not be racing this year without his help.
