Crazy8 | LS2 swap into early C4? | ||

Are there any kits on the market to do this? Or is it all custom fab work? My shop suggested that I look at this as an option to the 383, as the prices are about the same. I currently have a factory L98 with a 700R4. Rear was upgraded before I bought it to a Dana 44, but am going to go with a 4 link solid rear end from CF member ski_dwn_it. My 86 Vette will be mostly used on the drag strip, but will also need street manners, as I will have to drive the Vette to the strip and want to drive it from time to time around town and on Corvette Cruises. Any input would be great!! Thanks.

As the LSx swap becomes more popular, many shops are now starting to make adapter plates and motor mounts to ease the application.
I read about one recently but can't find the info I think you can probably find the answers with Google |

I attended a seminar put on by Chris Petris at Carlisle last year. They had an 85 there with an LSx crate motor hooked up to a late model auto tranny. They drove the car up from Florida with no problems. The class was cosponsored by Corvette Central and Corvette Fever.
Try contacting Corvette Central or Corvette Fever for more info. You could also try Chris Petris at chris@corvetteclinic.com[size=12:5d1f8bbc05] [/size:5d1f8bbc05] |

Depending on pricing to do this, I may end up going back to the Gen I block and just doing a stroker with a carb. My 86 is going to see 70% track, 30% street duties. Thanks for all the posts...if anyone has any more insight, I'd love to hear it!! |

Unless you just want to do it yourself, 69's would be the way to go. Everything on that car works like factory, air, the works! All except 2 of the digidash stations, I think they were volts and average MPG or some such nonsense. I've seen his car 1st hand and it's beautiful. The installation looks factory, the motor is still under warranty and the car is daily driven by his wife. 10k is a hell of a lot cheaper than DIY for the most part. If i had an extra 10k, It would be in my driveway |

man the threads I miss while being busy.
Yes, I have adapter plates and headers available for this swap. As well as pretty much anything else needed. No cutting on the car is required with my plates. That's a personal preference though as not cutting on the car requires you to do something about the AC. The LS2 compressor mounts on the lower passenger side of the engine. The motor mount horn on that side is in the way. You know you can always run a carb on that LS2. I can get you the manifold and other parts needed to do it. |
