2014 Memorial Day Car Show Winner!

Planning my early July vacation and looking for some input. Here is the basic plan. Rosie and I have two weeks, will be driving the Corvette.
Leaving KC Sunday July 5 headed for Central Michigan. Figuring 2 days to get there. Probably stopping in Auburn Indiana at the Auburn/Cord/Dusenburg Museum. Spending a couple days with friends in Michigan (around Grand Rapids) From there, we are headed toward Niagara Falls, via Canada. From Niagara we will be headed around the east side of Lake Erie back around toward Cleveland(?) and headed back toward Kansas. With the projected path, what is there to see and do along the way....Car museums, Scenic drives, interesting points of interest, tours, Corvette related items....etc? |

Mike, looks like we would be in the area Monday the 6th. Not sure what time. Not even sure where we will be Sunday night.
OK, looking at maps and things, it's really only 9 hours from KC to Fort Wayne. A stop in Effingham might be in order, but Fort Wayne might be a possibility Sunday, late afternoon early evening. We have a tendency to leave early in the mornings, so Fort Wayne looks like it would be a good stopping place for the evening. Do you have suggestions for places to stay there? |

The museum doesn't open til 10:00 am. Auburn is about 15 minutes from Fort Wayne. So staying in Fort Wayne or Auburn is a wash. Prices seem to be about the same. They seem to be running about $75 a night. Grand rapids is about 2.5 hrs from here. Effingham is a nice place to visit.

Working on a more detailed plan. Fort Wayne Sunday night it appears now from there up to Lowell, MI. East to Niagara Falls then south around the east side of Lake Erie around Cleveland back toward Indianapolis and Kansas City.

You have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame right on the lake in downtown Cleveland. Then there is Cedar Point Amusement Park 1 1/2 west of Cleveland.
