wellllllll.......big sleep in today....after getting up a 4 am for the last few days.... I am surprised though how many folks are up and going at 6 am around the Star City.....traffic is really moving......must be those 52 percenters Gris was mentioning......you know the ones....that actually think they should work to make ends meet and try to do so......

Cubs down 2 to 1.......I probably like the Tribe better than the Cubs......I think its because of their totally politically incorrect name and their big smiling Indian logo.......very nice.....

Today I will.........work on my Pete some......and there is a long list of honey do's around here......and of course the Huskers play at 6 on ESPN.....taking on the Wisconsin Badgers who have put a great rendition of the old Huskers together on the field.....they are out huskering us......but not anymore....tonight we ride into Camp Randall Stadium and kick their asses............just wanted to see how that sounded........more on that later....

Busy all day here. Before they put this house on the market, they put new carpeting in. Some doors needed trimmed on the bottom and in some cases the house settlleing caused some doors to rub at the top. So first order of business was figure out which needed top and which bottom and which both, then get those trimmed. All doors in the house now close properly. Then my attention was set for the basement and straightening out Bubbas' wiring there.

This was a small chore. After determining what was what and how it was rigged, my plan of attack was clear, but I was short a few things which required me to make yet another trip to Lowes. Three hours later, I have Bubbas' wiring mess squared away. #3 and SIL will be tickled.

Got to head out to church, then back out to the Speedway to check in with them.

Oldest sis is back in the hospital. Things once again don't look too promising. The doctors suggested to my BIL that he should consider signing a DNR order and arrange hospice. Sis wakes for a few seconds then goes back to sleep. She's hanging by a thread. My sister has been so lucky in the past. It was just not her time. As with all of us, it's only a matter of time.

MY DUMPSTER RUNNETH OVER. #3 GS SHOWED UP TODAY AND WE REALLY GOT A LOT DONE. I'LL HAVE TO GET AN OUT OF CYCLE TRASH PICKUP LAID ON MONDAY. AND THERE'S STILL AT LEAST ONE MORE DUMPSTER LOAD TO BE TAKEN OUT. SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS YEARS AGO.

Things were pretty quiet at the Speedway when we finally got there. We stopped and picked up Chinese to eat....for some reason they didn't want BBQ. Imagine that??

We sat down and ate and helped them clean stuff up some from the party last night. SIL says they are having a concert starting at 7:30, so we go over to listen. It was, what they call 'country', but if that's country, I've been away from it too long, sounded more like what we called "Southern Rock" back in the 70s. Opening act was a band called Mark Chapman Band, really very good. They played about an hour or so, then, the big act set up, some guy named Tyler Farr. Never heard of him, but he was pretty good, too. But the girls started to get tired, and SIL and daughter needed to get back to check on the competition smoking, so we headed back.

Big day for us here.
