CALM, CLOUDY, AND 30 DEGREES ON THE FRONT PORCH. 48 IS THE EXPECTED HIGH. NIPPY OUT THERE.

STILL NEED TO BLOW OUT THE FURNACE FILTER; OTHER THAN THAT OPEN AGENDA TODAY.

OUR BENEVOLENT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOES NOT LIKE THE WAY TEXANS RUN THEIR STATE. I REMEMBER WHEN DALLAS WAS KNOWN AS "THE CITY THAT WORKS". THE FEDS FIXED THAT BY FORCING THEM TO CHANGE THEIR SYSTEM OF CITY GOVERNMENT.

STAY WARM, Y'ALL---

Morning guys... chilly here today, 25 now, and headed to the low 50s... those are seasonal temps for us.

Not a lot on the agenda today. Need to make a Christmas present for the #3 GS, but not sure exactly the details, so not sure I'll get that done today.

Visited the house where I will be doing the cabinets as soon as the sheetrock is done. sheetrock was going up, so that might happen next week.

Going to call the gentleman I made the chest for and have him come by and pick it up. And I hve a sign for a church in the next town over to the west, that I need to finish painting the lettering on (second coat).

I hope, everyone, has a great "day that will live in infamy"

good morning - bless all those who suffered in Pearl Harbor
"May God have mercy on our enemies, because I won't"

Where has the last few days gone? I feel like I've ran non-stop since sometime last weekend. New mattress so swap out in bedroom, deep clean and move things, new sofa so same thing in living room, been going room by room all week and weekend, pool house included. took plastic from mattress and $20 worth of wood and made a greenhouse so all hisbiscus platns are not out in that and out of pool house, so cleaned and rearranged in there too. Got rid of an old couch, a huge chaise, a chest of drawers and more junk day by day, rearranged and cleaned in dining room, front bathroom. I still like our bathroom , I've done our closet cleanout, have the office to do, then onto the kitchen cabinets and garage then hopefully we'll go all thorugh the shop. I get in this mood about this time every year. DRives ARron bonkers. I guess I'm nesting since winter is here and i can't get outside, not sure what you call it but I call myself wore the heck slap out. I hurt everywhere.
Am at work today hopefully will get some rest sitting in here. Today is gym day, that might be a no-go

"At dawn we slept"

The 45th anniversary of Pearl Harbor occurred when I was in the Navy. At that point, it was still a visceral memory, and there was an evident effort to make sure that "never again" would this happen.

Now, eighty years.

A MASTERFUL STROKE BY THE ADMIRAL WHO DID NOT WANT TO GO TO WAR.
GOOD THING WE SHOT HIM DOWN; HE WAS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER.

BEEN A WHILE SINCE YOU POSTED JOHN; I WAS BEGINNING TO WONDER IF YOU WERE OK.

A somber salute to those that lost their lives on this day at Pearl Harbor. The oil leaking from the USS Arizona is a sight that will stay with me forever.

Sue's fish pond took a major blow to the fish population. Almost every fish died. We think that the god-damned heron or egret brought in a parasite on its legs. We've been cleaning out dead fish for days. Treated the pond with medications to no avail. Lost some really big Koi and hundreds of smaller fish. Did a total flush and cleaning of the pond. We'll see if the small population that is still alive will pull through. 2 Koi are still there but stuggling. Cut the grass at home and did some outside cleanup of the water tubs the tortoises and pig drink out of. Friday is coming up fast.

Letty, we'll trade you some landscaping in the Spring for a home deep cleaning.

still no complete approval on this dump truck and I just had a Mercedes super extended transit pull in here for a quote. We need this dump truck outta our bay, otherwise slow day around here. It's okay, I needed the rest. Going to grocery store then home.

Tommy, as much of a PITA as I feel I have with our landscaping, I'll bout take you up on that offer!
Regarding the ponds, would that "avian" bird repellent work for you? Or would it harm the fish? Maybe a chicken wire style covering that sits just above the water so heron can't get in there yet pond surface is still somewhat open? I'm having a squirrel problem over here - they eat my flowers
He keeps it up, I'm gonna eat him. They go quite well with taters, biscuits and gravy.

THAT BRINGS BACK SOME FOND MEMORIES: AS A BOY I WAS TAUGHT SQUIRREL HUNTING BY A CHICKASAW MAN THAT WORKED WITH MY DAD.
WE'D GO OUT EARLY, KILL A MESS, BRING THEM HOME AND HIS LIVE-IN GIRL FRIEND WOULD FRY THEM UP, MAKE BISCUITS AND GRAVY FOR BREAKFAST.

SO TASTY!
