Time for a clutch. My stock clutch is still good, but won't hold when the bottle is on. What is the best clutch for a ZF that combines drivabilty, quietness, and performance? I'm not interested in something that has massive clamping force and immediately breaks the rear. I need something that will protect the Dana 44 and hold 500rwhp. Do I need to go away from the dual mass or can I keep it?
Thanks... |

Yes...I have already retained Josh as my C4 clutch consultant. I'm curious what everyone else has had success with.
At this point I'm leaning towards a Centerforce, but am open to other options. I'm not crazy about the noise factor of a single mass flywheel, but I guess that's what comes with making big power. Anybody else had success with a dual mass and hardened disk? |

You might try calling McLeod. Unlike most companies, I've gotten answers from them that weren't based on my buying their products. When I had the twin in my car, I called them a couple times, and each time the guy asked my why I put that clutch in the car, lol.
www.mcleodind.com They might have a pretty good solution for you. I don't know if you got my E-mail, but if you want quiet and more clamp, there is only one option that I know of. The centerforce pressure plate, centerforce disk, and the stock dual mass. McLeod has stepped up their product line a lot in the last year or so, and they might offer something now that is superior to the CF flywheel/CF disk/stock DM set up; I don't really know. They are in California, they should be open in a couple hours. It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask. |

I have a question. If I replace my clutch, must I replace the flywheel?
Say I go stock replacement, or with something that works with the dual mass, does the flywheel need replacing? |
