This morning:
Gold is down $14.00 Silver is down .49 Crude oil is down $2.50 Euro/dollar is down .00927 Gas and natural gas is also down. Can this start a trend? The Fed meets today and tomorrow. The GNP numbers also out in the next few days. Last but not least, the "index of home prices". |

I would have thought the foreclosure figure to be much higher. Not near as bad as I thought.Do you feel we are into the turn runner? Things can't stay down (or up) forever.I still feel gas prices have to come down for the economy to get a good kick start.

The old saying is true here...."all real estate is local" which means some markets are better than others and some are worse. Miami, Boca Raton, Las Vegas and parts of L.A. are the worst and will come back last. We probably have another 10% down from here and six months. The stimulus package ($600./1200. per person/couple) should have an immediate effect on the economy and we can look for a step two....probably a temporary hold on summer gas taxes. Gas prices are up because of the disruption premium.(Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, South America "Vens." are just a few of many producers. When and if stability returns to the world oil producers, the disruption premium will go away. |

Foreclosure rates in Michigan are horrible. I have a rental house there (house I own that I used to live in) and it has depreciated at least 15% in the last 4 years just because the market is crap. Oh well. I'll try to ride it out.
