Good Morning Gurus!

Well, just another Monday...

I did nothing this weekend. I don't think I even left the house. Blah.

I may take my Amigo on some trails next weekend. I've had that little truck for a year and a half, and never took it offroad. So, this will be a much needed excursion, if it works out.

How was your weekend, everybody?

hotter than hell. That's what it was.

Saturday, we had two cookouts... and they were both hot.

Yesterday, it was still hot. I went to the local Borders...

I think it is about ready to break, actually.

Oh, well, off to work!

Enjoy offroading the Amigo! They're very capible.

Good morning, all!

I worked all Saturday and we went house-shopping this Sunday (in the convertible - the thunderstorms held off). We're looking for more garage spaces - it's funny to see the look on the realtor's face when we measure the garage first before looking at the house...

Good morning CGs!

I was MIA for a couple days due to all the family in town. Looks like the place didn't burn to the ground without me, so I guess we're safe.

Dropped my sister off at the airport, about the take the baby to the doctor, and then I have to work out. Got a busy day planned.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Mornin! I am picking up a RC51 tonight! I cant wait! Been searching for a smoking deal for over 3 months now and came across this one, 02 RC51 with 3,200 miles on it, stock except for aftermarket pipes!

Looks great Johnny! The guy saved you about a grand, putting the exhaust on there! Nothing like the music of a V-Twin sportbike, IMO!

Be safe out there with the nutjobs on the streets!

I'm kinda jealous.... Need to keep my eyes open for an Erion 929. And a freelance job to pay for it.

Will do, its a rough street any more and with the nut job crotch rocket crowd it automatically puts a bad name on me when I ride. But this thing KBB for about 6,500 so its nice to be cut a deal like this. (I am getting it for 5,300)

Hey good deal on a nice looking bike. Never been a big fan of crotch rockets because I dropped one when I was about 20 - scared me a little bit. Stay safe out there!

Congrats on the bike!

I played a sucky round of golf yesterday, but it didn't suck half as bad as coming to work today.

Got back last night from San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay, everywhere up there hit an all-time high temp. It was 112F at the beach! I didn't hear anyone bitch about gas prices once.

I actually rode up there on my Suzuki GS500, boy that was a long ride! Took the scenic route through SLO county, Santa Barbara, Mulholland, and got stuck on a closed freeway where there was a fatality investigation.

Now I'm here on 3 hours sleep and not working. I'd be more productive if I was sleeping.

I'd venture to say that most people never take the time to learn it properly and scare themselves off.

I think your right. Alot of kids jump on a bike thinking they can just hop on and be an expert when it really takes years to master bike skills. I rode for a year on a dirt bike and 2 years on a cbr600 and with some practice I hope to master my RC51 in about a year.

Did you ever take the MSF course? Totally worth it, I think. Plus you already have your license (I assume) so you won't be under any pressure to pass any tests. But it is super easy. Just lots of good info.

I wouldn't recommend anyone ride a motorcycle without it. Shoot, even folks who are gonna ride a 49cc scooter should take the training.

Definitely. The bike I dropped was a Yamaha R6. Quite a powerful machine. I was inexperienced at the time. I was turning a corner at about 10 mph and the back wheel slid out when I gave it too much gas. I wasn't horsing around or trying to be an ass. Since then I've owned a couple 1100 cc cruisers, which were more to my liking. You can ride for 20 years and still learn something new or have a new experience. The bottom line is riding any bike can be dangerous and extra care needs to be taken.

Good luck with the bike.

After riding on the street for the past 6 mos, I took out my brother's dirt bike on some tight trails. Holy crap! Street riding is a breeze compared to that.

Another fan of the MSF course here!

You couldn't pass the DMV test on most bikes anyways! I bought some books to give me more tips to practice.

Dirt riding is a great workout. I gained about 20 lbs right after I stopped. I hope someday my back let's me get back in the saddle.
