I feel your pain. I have to do the pads on the Xterra. I guess I should get to that sooner rather than later.

welp... it looks like the front end has been updated... mine is a 93 2WD. The front bearings are supposed to be conventional bearings... well... the front end on this has the later style front end with bearing hubs.

I need to confirm the history... but all parts houses show bearings, whereas this has hubs. weird...

I checked... the front end is stock and correct.

Kragen (Parts America), Autozone, NAPA & Rock Auto are all WRONG! May I add that the Haynes manual is uber-wrong!

The brake design changed mid-way through the 1992 model year (mine is a 1993). Kragen shows the change in 1994.

Oopsie. Kragen is being nice about it and have the new parts, I hope... I will swap tomorrow.

Just curious - what's the practical difference between a conventional bearing and a bearing hub? I (successfully) did some work recently on the front bearing of my daughters 1998 grand cherokee, and I have no clue what type it is! Thanks

This is a bearing hub:

The other style look like old school wheel bearings.

One is serviceable and costs about $12, while the other is non-serviceable and costs $200.
