Great way to get to know the Corvette crowd.

There's a lot that never get on the computer.

Great way to find out what's going on in your area.
Events, shops, shows, racing etc.

And why would I want to do that? They probably don't want to get to know me either.

I can tell you, I don't have any "Corvette" friends where I live. Maybe I am too introverted or something, maybe a club would help get to know some.

However, I have known people from a lot of different types of clubs and it seems to be a common thing...meetings, more meetings, money, fights, breakup, split into two more clubs.

That just happened recently here.

I think some people can't get enough stress in their daily routine that they have to create it out of thin air.

When people start whining about club stuff, I ignore them until it's not fun anymore, then I leave and find a new crowd.

It's especially frustrating when it involves cars, because everyone thinks its an invitation to tell everyone how they know everything, but all it does is cause me brain pain. I can never bear to correct them.

Group gatherings go much easier if you don't pretend you know more than you do, and if you consider whether people want to listen to you or not before you open your mouth.

I usually find that the people in these clubs only want to talk about their car(s). I love cars, I love my 'vette, I love racing. But I like to talk about it about 10% of the time, maybe 15% in the summer. It gets tedious the other 85-90%. In a car club the car is the common interest, not the ONLY interest.

Plus the chicks are never hot.

Well the NCCC clubs I've belong to are all heavy into racing.

That's why I go.
