I am building a stroker 383 and is thinking about the injectors. More volumen more air should also be connected to more fuel. I have stock 24 lps./hr. injectors and would like to upgrade to 30 lps./hr. injectors. Does anyone have experiance in burning a new e-prom to tell the system the larger injectors
regards
Leif

A lot has to do with the specs.

Sure, a 383 is more engine, but you can get a lot from a 383 with 24lb injectors. Remember, the LT4 used 26lb injectors. Now, you do get into duty cycles and such...

Where do you live? What is the big city near you?

How high will it be revving? A 383 is only 10% more displacement. I would be very surprised if the 24# injectors can't be tuned to it easily.

As food for thought, I ran 24lb injectors in my 85 corvette with a 383 to low 11's no problem.... it never even occured to me to go bigger. (These were FMS 24lb injectors)

There are a couple of other C4 owners that ran 24lb injectors to mid to low 10's with 434 motors. One of them is a tuner and stated the injectors were never static.

Just food for thought...

Hi All
Thank you for the welcome and the thoughts about the injectors. Bogus i am from Denmark we have a lot of corvette entusiast here, infact we are organising a group to drive down with our corvettes to Le Mans it is more fun to go there with your own corvette. This year i get a chance to drive with my C4 on the actual track before the race startes, it is going to be great. I will use your advise and start with the 24 lb injectors and se howe it goes.
see you out there
Leif

Wow! Another European member! That's great!

There is an old friend from another forum who has a 96 GS and a 90(?) Ferrari 348.

You will want to get the computer tuned... you may want to check out PCM's for Less... http://www.pcmforless.com/

IIRC, they can even provide you with a new chip with the programming already updated for your needs.

Short of putting this car on a dyno and getting it done in real time, a near miss tune isn't all that bad. The computer can adapt, it just needs the base tables modified.

Welcome to the boards there!

I think I've read that 30's might be too high for an L98. Had something to do with spec fuel pressure.

Hi Bogus
That would be Lars, i know the guy, he is also a member of the Danish Corvette Club. Regarding the injectors and the ECM, i think i will keep the 24 lb injectors, and in near future i will change the ECM, with a full computorized solution and at that time i can control everything myself.
I will be back with an update when i crank the engine.

Lars is the man! I forgot to add his name... I really need to invite him over here.

I would keep the injectors.

I would actually consider this setup:

http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/coil_per_cylinder.aspx

You see, as I understand it, the aftermarket computers just do not have the drivability that the factory units have. At the same time, a later LSx computer can be updated via a handheld device or laptop computer.

GM has put a lot of time, money and research into making their PCMs that much better.
