CorvetteBob Superram gaskets?

A few weeks ago I picked up a Super Ram. I'm looking at putting it on my car and need to know about gaskets. Are the gasket sets from Jegs/Summit worthwhile? Would I be better off using Permatex "Rightstuff" or ????
Thanks in advance for help.

Bob, the ones from Lingenfelter are good and a complete set with THrottle body gasket cost $23 the last time I bought them in March of 2005.

I have a new never used lid gasket and 2 gaskets for the bottom of the plenum I will mail you for free if you send me your address.

Hey, Bob,

What else are you gonna do whilst you install that SR? Or is this the final piece to a bigger puzzle?

At this time I don't have any grand scheme. In order to pay for the SR I hafta sell my TPIS runners. That's why I'm putting it on. There is the future possibility of the cam and heads, but for now it's just the SR. Maybe if I get real froggy I might go for some decent valve springs just to see what I can get out of the combo. I'm pretty sure the OEM springs were junk when they were new. But that's just
ass-scratchin' and "what-if'ing". If I remember right, the GM LTx springs are a decent, low price replacement on an L98. Whaddya think?

I doubt the springs will do jack. I have never heard of the L98 part being junk, and all they provide is more reliable service.

If anything, the rocker arms are a bigger issue... I would do roller rockers, new springs (yes, needed with the rockers) and valve seals.

IIRC, the LT4 kit would work great.

Gaskets were mailed USPS Priority, you "might" have them tomorrow!

Too bad my old 233/233 cam wont work for you, it would work great with the Super ram!

i bought the accel set from summit for around $25.

i'm going to install mine in the spring while i'm fixing oil leaks since the intake front seal is leaking anyway, waiting till i can afford a cam as well. and then when i can afford them i'm doing headers.

FWIW, the lower "high flow" gaskets from Edelbrock are the exact same size as the stock gaskets. Don't bother with them if you plan on enlarging the port on your superram base.

Are the Accel gaskets any bigger?

the accel gaskets are a touch bigger(1/16"ish) than the untouched openings on my SR base/runners.
