Last summer I put a Keisler 5 speed in my '70. I found out then that the PO put a 2.73 rear gear in the car and 10% compensator on the speedo cable to make up the difference. Now am looking to swap out the rear gear for a 3.36 but have no idea what I need. I have read that the 2 series gears were in a different carrier that the 3 series gears, so I may be looking at swapping out the entire pumkin. Has anyone had any experience with this swap?

TIA

I have not ever had the pleasure to mess with C3 rear ends. Have you tried contacting Gary, GTR1999? He's great to get on the phone...PM me if you need his number.

I'll second the recommendation. I'm going through mine now and Gary has been a gentleman and a professional. He has held my hand through the whole thing and I'd be far over my head without his help, and he has been patient and kind the whole time.

A guy on CF is interested in buying the 2.73 so I may just replace the whole unit and sell the old one to him. It's in great shape. From what I can tell it was rebuilt about 3 years ago and only has about 6,000 miles on it.

That might be the way to go. I know on my c4 it was easier just to replace the whole pig.
