I just purchased a ported plenum from Mike at Corvetteplenums. I purchased this plenum for when I put the ZZ4 into my 89 Corvette, but would like to know about how much HP gain would I get if I put it on my stock L98 with a set of aftermarket runners and intake manifold. I have been looking at the Big Mouth intake and there runners and that is probable what I will use.I won't be putting the ZZ4 in until next spring and if it makes a difference in HP on my stock motor maybe I could put it on that motor until I make the swap. Thanks ..WW

i have no experience with it, it's worth a try since you have it and you tell us what you think, i think it is a worth while mod on a stock motor

Stock exhaust. If so not nearly what it would be if you had a free flowing exhaust.

People say around 10-15 depending on mods. I have no personal experience on the dyno with those mods, though. I've got my plenum sitting in the garage about 30% ported (I'm lazy!) along with my new SLP runners and a stock intake to be ported. When I get around to it is what I keep saying.

Just a quick question - did you make sure that you got an 89 specific plenum from corvetteplenums? Mike should have asked for your year, because the 89 is a one year only plenum. Just FYI.

You will pick up a little, mainly you will be able to raise your shift points some. Change the exhasut out and put on some 1.6 roller rockers with the intake change and it will help out alot more.

Yes, it is for a 89,actually I didn't buy it directly from Mike, I saw he had it on ebay and put a bid in on it.I got it for $150.00 and didn't even have to send in my old plenum for exchange.I think I got a great deal. Thanks everyone for the replys.WW

When I put on ported plenum, and aftermarket large tube runners and intake, I had done a bunch of other modifications at that time, so I cannot say for exact. But based upon other reports over the years, I think you're looking at 15-25 HP in stock form.

They should extend your rpm range another couple hundred..... which is valuable.

good luck !
