I'm putting the engine back together on my 85and noticed that the heater hose Tee has a hole in it and the metal is very thin. I haven't been able to find a replacement and was wondering if anyone saw a problem using a copper Tee from Lowes or Home depot?

I doubt it would cause a problem at all. I would paint it black so it looks right.

I have a copper tee on mine. Left-over stuff from plumbing my
house. I first tried a plastic one that lasted a week. benny

Copper should be fine, but I've never seen any sort of copper tee with barbs on it at home depot.

The stock one is some cheap type of steel. I assume this is on the heater line into the water pump, where it tees to the engine oil cooler?

You can get barbed ones (probably not at HD).

You can even get stainless steel:

Look in the section with the gas lines at Home Depot. If I had to use just regular copper I used to Permatex it to make sure it did not slide apart, and never had one come apart.
