Good Morning CGs!

Well I found out the other day (on my days off) that one of the guys I work with had a heart attack and died the other night. Very sad. Only 53 years old. Way too young. Left behind a few sets of kids from different wives. He never seemed to be in bad shape, not a big drinker, but smoked a lot. Should hear about the funeral arrangements today. A very somber way to start the day.

The above is a good reminder why we need to take care of ourselves. Nothing wrong with enjoying life every once in a while, but remember we have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of the ones we love.

Aside from me bringing everyone down, hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

Very sad, indeed.

Fortunately for me, but unfortunate for somebody else, this is the reason I got my job offer yesterday. The fellow I'll be replacing was involved in an accident, and died.

In the job I quit last night, (casino) people are allowed to smoke inside the building. This was a very disturbing situation for me, from both a moral point (not all, but some people who can't afford it gambling and smoking), and health point. I've had family members die prematurely due to smoking, so I'm for any public banning of it - but I won't get in your face about it.

Every other public building, including bars and restaurants, smoking is not allowed. The Indian Casinos are the only exception.

Bummer.

But I'm physched about the new job opportunity.

Yes, that is too young. Younger than Brad, Tommy and I.

Well, we are still in lockdown today. The escapee apparently has been spotted in town, so we are still under alert. This guy is in jail for attempted murder of one of my former students (shot him in the back) , so he is considered very dangerous.

Good Morning All,

Tom - Better lock and load buddy!!

As far as taking care of one's self. I agree 100%
I have been really taking a whack at trying to get myself back into suitable shape too. I'm turning 50 next year and want to be in the best physical condition I can be for the other half of my life (hopefuly half).

I have heard of, and been close to many untimely deaths this past year. It seems really weird that lots of people in thier 50s are falling out so early in life. I can think of three deaths in the past six months of 50ish folks that seemed to be relatively healthy. Scary!

You all take care of yourselves and your families. You only got one life.

Went to my recently departed friend's wake today and spoke with some of his family. Although I didn't know them personally, it was nice to talk to them and swap a few stories. Still was sad to see him laying there. I can't imagine how his wife and young kids feel. They'll get through it, but only with time and a lot of family support. Makes me happy for what I've got and reminds me the cherish my own time with my family.
