I just ordered an electronic cigarette today after trying out a cigar last week. I discovered there's a whole friggin' e-cig subculture out there, and they call regular cigs "analogs" - LMAO! Anyway, it should be interesting.

Let me know how it goes.

(As I sit here at my computer with an unlit cigarette hangin in my mouth)

Will do - I've been smoking for over 40 years, so I'm a professional. A lot of folks trying them are long-time smokers, so it should be interesting.

An electronic cig has a rechargeable battery (usually looks like the white part of a cig), an atomizer and a cartridge that holds a liquid containing nicotine. When you puff on it, the battery powers the atomizer which turns the liquid into vapor that is inhaled. The newer ones have the atomizer and cartridge built into one piece (looks like the filter on a regular cig). You can get cartridges in lots of different flavors and strengths, and a lot of folks refill their own with aftermarket juice. Smoking these gizmos is referred to as "vaping". Supposedly they are legal for use in bars, airplanes, etc. since there is no fire and no smoke, but who knows how long that will last.

I don't think it'll be long before nicotine is illegal. After all, I seem to remember it's a more deadly poison than cyanide.

Agreed. Pot is better for you, and more enjoyable.

I figure the way society is today that it will be sociably unacceptable to do anything that even looks like smoking. Even with the e-cig some moralist will walk up to you and say "You know that's bad for you." A THC loaded cartridge sounds like it could help those who need it medicinally. My glaucoma is getting worse every year. I wonder if it would help lower blood pressure. Then I could get off the caduet.
