Any words of advise before I hurt myself?

One side done today, the other side will be tomorrow's project. It is really a straight forward job and I found an easy way to get the old bushings out. I simply used a vise, bolt with double nuts for length, and a large socket and pressed the metal sleeves out. Then cut thru the rubber bushing with a drywall saw and popped it right out.
Now it is time for that refreshment that Matt referred to.

It's pouring buckets all week here. I'll have to put in some time in the garage. Until I fix what's in there, the vette won't fit.

My only advice is make sure the suspension moves freely and the sleeves are being clamped down when you torque down the bolts, not the bushing face.

Finished it today. At 220,187 miles the original bushings were a bit soft and I could see where they were moving a little, but no deterioration as far as any chunks of rubber missing or anything like that.

Guess the next project, whenever I got to it will be the front bushings.

What bushings did you use?

Hyper-flex by Energy Suspensions (polyurethane). Other than a few miles to settle the suspension I haven't driven it enough to give any meaningfull feedback. Back to the garage to retorque the wheel nuts and that job is done.

I put on the new radio bezel and shifter cover on Monday, so the only new parts still on the shelf are the SS brake lines.
