anyone have a recommendation for a car alarm. brand model number. i have a honda accord that has power locks just not keyless entry. i carry a bunch of tools around in it too cause i live in an apartment and don't really have the space. i live very close to a college and there have been a few cases of things begin stolen nearby lately so i would like to have an alarm as a deterrent and the bonus of keyless entry. i have removed simple car alarms before but they were never properly installed and did really do much of anything but mess up wiring. anyways. anything i should look for in general?

Viper, Clifford... they are pretty good.

Find a GOOD install shop... and go from there. Seriously. I don't recommend installing yourself.

I have both Vipers and Cliffords. I prefer the Cliffords out of the two. I have a Viper on my 91 Vette. Eh! PIA with VATS.

Yea, I have VATS problems with my Excalibur but only if I hid the door lock swith inside before I get out. As long as I use the keyfob, it's fine.

I do my own installs but, it's a pain.

Josh, you may want to check with the manufacturer when you decide what brand. The keyless remote might need the extra board with 2 relays on it to activete the doorlocks. I know that C4s have to have this board even though they hav power locks. The Honda might not.

I've got a Prestige on my Vette, with no problems. I had it installed at a local shop.

i have installed many car audio components to include changers, amps, in dash dvds and such. i am very good with wiring. the people in best buy which is the only place i have found so far to do an install doesn't sound like the best idea. and for the extra $140 i feel like i could be fine doing it myself. just wanted to know which would be the best quality units..

Kinda hard to swing that thing inside a C4.

Best Buy = Installers working for minimum wage.IMO

Some of the alarm web sites have specific vechile wiring diagrams that you can download.
