Well... short of putting some heavier fluid in the diff, I don't know what to suggest.

I don't like that idea, tho, might harm the bearings.

Gordon Killebrew recommends using two bottles of diff lube when changing the diff oil. This is more than the recommended one bottle.

But why is Gordon recommending this? Quietness? Drag Racing?

I think it's because of what the diff additive does. It essentially adds friction modifiers to the oil. This must do something to the diff clutch, because he suggests it for durability.

How many runs did you get in and how long were you there?

Andy, you're talking about the posi additive right? I have to assume that adds some friction allowing the wet clutch to grip better.

Jon, have you checked the posi with a torque wrench? I recall that mine slipped around only 100 ft lbs, which seems awfully weak. I don't know what to compare it to. But I bet there are a ton of vette driving around with dead posis that don't even know it.

There is the spool option... and I think Eaton makes something for the D44 carrier.

GM friction modifier allows the clutches to slip more so there is no chatter in the rear end around corners, etc. Too much, though, and the clutches will slip too much and you lose the characteristics of a LSD.

No, the Viper diffs aren't setup to use the halfshafts as upper links.

Besides that diff is $4k!

No, but I called Quaiffe.
ZR1's run the same D44 I have.

That diff is one of the reasons Vipers did so well against the ZR1's back when they ran together in World Challenge.

Eaton makes a great posi unit

Only need 1 of those posi additive tubes, more is not better

IMO youll launch better with a heavier flywheel knowing the characteristic of a heavily ported LT5 opinions will vary

Well in that case, I don't think more is better either. I'd want as little as possible needed to do the job.

ron , with the heavier flywheel even leaving at 1500 rpms just caused the car to go up i smoke . i think i am going to go to the eaton diff i like the fact of not having clutches . i am going to bill boudreaus today and go with a steel 19lb flywheel that i got from callaway and a stage 3 ceramic disc clutch. he feels that the just a little heavier flywheel but not 46 lb stk will give me the best of both worlds . will see in jan .
