I have it running. It needs new shocks, these must be the originals. The cluster was working when I left the driveway, not anymore. Also I can get the engine to rev up slow. If I push the pedal too far, its like the ignition was turned off. As soon as I let off it is fine.

You might have clogged/destroyed the cat while troubleshooting for your fuel issues.

Are you sure you have enough fuel pressure and volume? is it missfiring? or just slow to rev up? I agree could be exhaust restriction, or a lack of fuel like a weak fuel pump or restricted filter ect...

Yea... and an H16 code from an opti will give the same result...
Glad you are making progress! I would think a clogged cat is a REAL possibility. However, the engine never really ran, so unless the cat got hot somehow, I don't know what cold raw fuel will do with a cold cat? I would check the filter and the pump. Also, make sure the plugs are good. |

I think you're the closest. It woulndn't start this morning, so I put a new fuel filter on it. The other looked new. Now with the pressure guage it flows out of the relief valve. It didn't do this yesterday. When I first turn the key it will pressurize to 30psi. I will bump the key, then it will jump to 40-45psi. It will stop around @50psi. Is there a screen in the tank? If so it might be clogged, or the pump is bad. It seems like I am getting the psi eventually. |

Found a random post online that says fp should be in the 65 psi range - sounds like some blockage in fuel delivery. Unfortunately, you have to drop the tank to get to the pump. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t918591.html Matthew |

Without looking up specs I believe you need atleast 50-55psi to open the "poppets" on the injectors otherwise it won't run.. so it may start if it has just enough then starve and die out... |

I have the tank out, and a new fuel pump installed. I will finish putting the tank back in tomorrow. One of the strap bolt broke, and I didn't disconnect the tank vent valve. I found one store that had one in stock.

New pump is in, and it starts right up. I checked the fuses for the gauges, and it was blown. The I had the 4wd button out, and the fuse did not blow. The 2wd button was stuck down. However the fuse I used was from the RDO, but the radio would turn on (static only). I think the antenea is not plugged in all the way.
There was a vibration when I put it back in park. Then the engine corrected itself. When I put it in gear it went away. I think the system is still cleaning itself out. |

Well it was the 2wd, 4wd button. It switched to 4wd, but blew the fuse when 2wd was pressed. I need the wiring diagram to see if it is the harness, or just the switch.
The engine does have a hesitation, which is probably linked to the rough idle. It will correct itself, so I am thinking O2's or cat. The SES light is not on, but does light up before I start it. I was given the suggestion of the MAF. I will switch it from my truck to try it. First I will unplug it to put it in limp home mode. |

I have fixed the radio and 4wd button. The wires were pinched in the dash above the steering column. I had to take the entire dash loose to get them out, then fix the wires.
The SES light did come on when I took it out on a drive. Hopfully this will be the fix for the hesitation. |

why would wires get pinched in a dash? Sounds like some prior hack jobs, dude.
Glad you are getting it back on the road! |
