I ordered a set of injectors for my 88 L98 vette. I ordered the $169 set of injectors instead of the flow matched. Did I make a mistake? Also I didn't have the option for the gaskets. I have a fel-pro o-ring gasket set. Wiill the fel-pro be ok or do I need to order the set from fic? Thanks. I had called but we kept missing each other.

For some reason, I thought those were flow matched?

in the bank-to-bank system on the 88 Vette, it would make for a smoother idle and better highway MPG.

Beyond this... I would wait for their reply.

I ordered the $169 replacement set before and had no problems.

You won't need to replace the o-rings on the injectors themselves, they are new. If you are referring to the o-rings on the fuel rail the fel-pro set will be fine as long as they are fuel-safe o-rings. The rest of the plenum/runner gaskets are fine if they are fel-pro.

all our bosch 3 sets are matched.. we flow so many of these a week, close to 100 sets. We just box 8 that flow the same and have the same coil impedance. Our gsket sets are felpro whick we think are the best.. so you are good to go.

Are any o-rings not fuel-safe?
I soaked some hardware store rings in gas for a couple weeks with no change.

Ok great. Sorry for asking but what are the benefits of the $189 bosch III set over the $169 set? I am guessing maybe a little more performance?? Installing them this week then.

BTW my originals seem to be fine but after all of the fic research I have decided it would be better to replace since I have the intake runners off. Car has 30,000 miles but it sat for 12 years. Thanks again.

The originals are worth some cash. I think OEM replacements are around $450. Some people only trust OE stuff, put them on ebay...

You don't need more expensive injectors unless you have a modified engine. They won't help performance at all if the rest of the engine is stock.

I have added a k&N filter and that is going to be it. Maybe an exhaust down the road. I am getting excited b/c from what I have read the fic bosch III's make a noticeable improvement over the stockers. I have read nothing but positives about them and their injectors. Can't wait.

they have a better spray pattern, and being matched, they will smooth out the idle a bit.

You won't gain power, but you will gain refinement. I have a set in my 92 and they really did help smooth out the idle.

The only drawback I found was slightly lower mpg, but I seem to have been in the minority there. Of course, the huge improvement in throttle response, smoother idle, immediate starts, etc made up for it.

Yes, many o-rings out there are not fuel compliant. When using o-rings in an environment exposed to fuel, make sure they say there are fuel safe/compliant when you purchase them. It might not be as common to find non-fuel compliant o-rings in the automotive market, but they are out there.

Edit:

Not to go off topic, but here is a listing of a few different types:
