yes I mentioned that. Sorry for the delay. Putting in new carpet has been a pain in the arse. Didn't realize I was going to have to cut holes and trim. Anyway the side bolsters on the bottom and back covers needed to be stretched more for a tight look. Had to overlap it in the back alittle so the front didn't have wrinkles. I don't know if it was the skins or the seat cushions I bought of off ebay. Cushions cam in a mid america motorworks box(brand new). Don't know for sure but I made it work.

vinyl, pretty good quality, not a perfect fit so they will need some tweaking. these are NOT covers they are skins. they are hog ringed on new seat foam.

ended up being the metal brake booster I installed. I need to adjust the rod. It was locking up the front breaks. I guess since the weather here in arkansas heated up it caused fluid to put enough pressure on it to do this. I should have double checked it anyway. Is there a procedure for adjusting this booster and pedal play?? I want to make sure I don't cause anymore problems. My back can't handle laying down and getting out of the floor board again.

well for $200 these are pretty nice. Not a perfect fit but I tweaked them. Bought some new foam as well. One side down. Black with lite blue stitching.

mine is the 601-105 factory 3pc.

is it not suppose to hang down even with the left and right pieces? I am probably stupid but yours doesn't look right to me.

I have it layed out on the floor. Is this the correct orientation?

thank you. Yes really wasn't bad. The booster on my 90 300zx was alot harder. It has 4 bolts on the back end. I am 6ft 3 238 so removing the seat was a must no matter what. Still sucked trying to lay down in there. I put my legs in the hatch area for room while laying on my back.

Ok the plastic unit was cracked and no good. Upgraded to the metal unit from zip corvette. $159 plush shipping was the price.

cracked leaky booster
2012-04-06_16-17-53_618
took me 1 hour to finish.

tips: remove driver seat and support bar infront of brake mc

tools needed:
1, 2 or 3 extensions
ratchet, swivel(optional), 1/2 inch deep socket, 13 mm deep socket
zr1 metal brake booster(came with new 13mm nuts for front and back of booster
optional 8mm high temp silicone hose for booster check valve to upper plenum

2012-04-06_13-08-25_552

disconnect battery of course
take out drivers seat of course
2012-04-06_15-57-00_306
take 6 bolts off of support bar in front of brake master cylinder.

3 screws on cruise unit come out so you can access 2 of the 3 bolts on upper side of support bar.
2012-04-06_16-16-25_222
2012-04-13_16-48-24_478
take off 2 bolts on brake mc and push forward
2012-04-13_16-48-18_413

take panel near pedals off(unscrewed them by hand)
take off 2 1/2 inch nuts under dash. Accelerator pedal is easy. Steering column side requires 2 extensions and 1/2 deep socket. Disconnect pin holding pedal to rod(mine was already gone).
2012-04-06_15-57-07_227

pull booster out install new one.
2012-04-13_16-48-18_413

reinstall in reverse order.
Luckily my large hands or 2 fingers were long enough to get the column side nut started.

Mods please cleanup any way you wish. I am not very good at write-ups but I wanted to try and give back alittle. Thanks.

Got some goodies in the mail today. Metal brake booster from zipcorvette and some 3/8 silicone vac hose. I am a little disappointed in the booster packing. Paint is scratched off in a few spots. Oh well I will repaint it.

Ok I have read I can just cut the plugs off of the air pump connections. Tap them up and hide them. What about the egr plug? It is obviously in bad shape and I have deleted the egr. Planning on eventually getting the ecm reprogrammed. Cut it or leave it?

Ok thanks. I will check first thing tomorrow. Car was apparently in a small front end collision so I am trying to put things back where they go. Some things are missing, some aren't even there. But is was a free car so I am not complaining.

ok I drew a line so maybe it will help me get my meaning across. Again I apologize. The fuel tank hard line is capped directly by the drivers side tire. I can't find where it goes from there. Where is the connection towards the cab at??

k thanks. I have got the part from the canister to the end of the hard line. Problem is it ends on the drivers side tire well. So I should look for a line going around to the back of the engine?? What does it connect to back there? Is there a vent hard line that goes under the car all the way to the tank? I haven't gotten under it to check yet. I have the hvac that t's to the intake vac line and canister line.

Yes I have been following the diagram under the hood. just having a problem beyond the diagram. Sorry if I am confusing you or myself. I appreciate the help.

ok I am getting the 88 L98 back together. New injectors from fuel injection connection, egr delete, air pump delete, new vac hoses, plugs, wires etc.

first question. what did I do wrong here? The pulley that replaces the air pump sticks out too far and the belt is angled??
2012-04-01_17-32-00_413

Next question is where does the vac hose to the fuel tank go from here?? It has a white vac cap and was like this when I got the car. I can't find or figure out what it connects too.
2012-04-01_20-17-45_601

next is the air pump hose on the pass side that is black and runs down the manifold. What size cap do I use?
2012-04-01_20-18-29_476

lastly. The vac hose coming off of the tb. What size hose is this?? I am guessing 8 to 10mm??
2012-04-01_20-18-49_520

almost forgot. Cant find these on any websites yet. Clip that holds hood release cable. Where can I get these other than the dealer?

Ok I have a little bit of a problem. Ordered some intake base bolts based on a chart of sizes I found on this forum. The sockets cap is noticeably shorter. Will it be ok or time to re-order longer ones.

ok is there a write up or specifically a pic of replacing the fuel rail o-rings?? I am installing new o-rings from fic and I have a really big o-ring and maybe one smaller I can't figure out where they go?? Are 2 of the smaller o-rings suppose to go on the front of the fuel inlet and outlet or?? If I use one on the fuel pressure regulator I have one left or one short. Sorry I am confused and can't find and pics. Please help.

does the big o-ring go here??

k great. I actually figured the damn clips out right before I read you post. Thank you. Injectors look kinda crappy with only 30,00 miles on them. Looks like 1 was possible leaking and one or two were about too. Don't know if it was the seal or injector.

Who sells a fuel rail o-ring kit. Since I am lazy and haven't finished my install I have decided to do a few more things while I am in there. Also I need a good article on marking a removing the distributer. Can anyone direct me to one. Thanks.

Forgot one thing. How do you get the damn clips off the injector fuel rail. I am trying to figure it out without damaging them. I am sure it is simple I just can't process how to do it. Sorry.

ok. What about using a soft wire brush?? I did this on the runner and upper intake surface. You think that enough or go ahead and try the drill bit technique?? Also will I need to pull the dist to take the lower intake off??? No ex[erience removing the disty so I was just wondering if it was going to be a pin or not.

BTW I hate the damn torx bit bolts. Glad I an switching to socket caps. I had bought the fel-pro set for the upper everything.

Ok so since I have the valve cover, intake, runners etc off and I have the gaskets should I go ahead and replace the gaskets between the lower intake and the heads?? Injectors are off for replacement as well. OR maybe reseal some of the bolts?? Not leaking as far as I can tell but just thought since I am in there.

Here are some progress pics. Doing some engine cleanup.

Anyone know the diameter and thread pitch of one of the 4 bolts that hold the throttle body on?? I am wanting to replace them with some stainless socket cap bolts. Also anyone have a list of hose clamp sizes for the l98?? I am wanting something better than the worm drive clamps. I was thinking some t-bolt clamps for the rad hoses and some of the other hoses.
