This is certainly turning out to be an odd time in my life. A number of people I know are are down right getting old. My sister is pretty ill also. She's back in the ICU. Unfortunately, I believe my Black suit is going to get a lot of use over the next few years. " One by one all the old timers are gone. Some by natural causes; Some ....."

Good Morning CGs!

Well Tommy, I feel a day older every day. I'm glad your mom is feeling better, too bad about your sister. Is this the sister that never seems to take care of her health problems until it's too late? That's a sad story. You said your mom is moving this month, where is she going? Assisted living type place? Somewhere nice, I hope?

Not much to report here. Gonna try to go tinker before rugrats get up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning guys....I just got up and my eyes aren't quite open yet and my brain isn't functioning. I have some work to do in the shop today.

We got an email from cousin the other day. She, her mom (my first cousin 's wife) and my aunt and uncle (my mom's only sibling and older brother), just moved back from Pahrump, NV about T-giving time. They had been living there because my cousin did better out there with his allergies. Well he up and died last fall (I told you guys about it). Well anyway in the email Friday it says that Aunty has some sort of tumor and has refused treatment (87 or 88 years old and has dementia). They are both moving to an assisted living facility as my uncle just won't be able to deal with Aunty. After she is gone, I'm afraid that my uncle won't be too far behind her. Been married for nearly 70 years, he won't know what to do without her.

I'm afraid that my black suit will be getting some use too, it's hell getting old.

My shooting buddies and I are going to have some fun with cap and ball revolvers today. Maybe I can recoup some gas money with some bullseyes.

Matt .... My Mom is moving out of an assisted living facility into a condo. She says the people there are too sick. She cleans her own place and doesn't use their services so .... When she makes up her mind on something, there is no changing it. She'll be closer to my sister that takes care of her affairs and brings her to the doctor etc. It'll also be much less expensive. Hell, she could afford to hire a helper if she needed one. Right now she is still very independent. 3 bouts of pneumonia is what's sending her packin. She wants out .... End of story ..... My sister says she'll get the level of care she requires as it is needed. Nursing home, hospice, etc.

He are some of my favorite quotes on aging:

I have a profound respect for old age. Especially when its bottled.

Aging seems to be the only available way to live a long life.

This is my favorite: I will never be an old man. To me, old age is always 15 years older than I am.

Live hard, ride fast, and die young! (That's how I used to look at it.) Now it's, Live easy, ride slow, and enjoy!

Went to church and now having some lunch. I had a good day working in the shop on my car yesterday, but man am I sore today after crawling up down and over that thing. That's gotta be good for me, right? Enjoy your day Guru's.

Brad wherever you are, smile and enjoy the ride!

I got to tinker in the garage before the rugrats got up. Had to take a break, help get rugrat #1 fed and dressed to rush out the door for church. After that it was back to tinkering on the car. Got the upper intake off, fuel rails and injectors out. Cleaned the IAC and Tb while I was at it. Ready to send those out to Jon soon for a rebuild. It's amazing that I haven't had to work on my car in almost a year, and I forgot how much of a PIA the TPI system is - ha! I also did some chores around the house and got in an absolutely insane chest workout. I'm gonna be huuuurtin tomorrow. Still have to run to my favorite toy store, HD, and do a few more errands. It was a productive day!

Naps are highly underrated. I'm having a lazy Sunday. Went to IHOP this morning with my son and ex in-laws, then hung around with them for a couple of hours at the at sonny boys. Somehow, out came some old pictures. I said to Opa, funny that you don't realize how old your getting till you sit around and look at some old pictures. I've known Oma and Opa for 35 years. My son will turn 32 in October. We looked at some shots from when he was still in single digits. He had a nickname back then. We called him I'ma. Short for I'ma pain in the ass.

There waa a picture of me and my first wife opening gifts at X-mas. I looked to Opa and said. Looks like I had a few Black Russians before that picture was taken. He laughed and said to me .... You probably needed it.
