First off, let me say this car looks nice. But the price and description are over the top:

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/3420513182.html

I'm interested in the the special order rosewood interior package and important borla muffler...

A steal at only 16k

On the 84. It's now a modified 84. Value diminished. (Not that there is much value in an 84.) The paint job, wheels amd tires have a return value but what value? And the wheels don't look right on that car.(IMO) Many people rip out the Rosewood look.

On the 63. Wow! You mean someone can get a return of $900,000 to $1,900,000 on such a project?

Did all the Z06's have the big fuel tank in them.....? What was the hp on a Z06?...

The 84 is 8 to maybe 10 grand and that might be pushing it...

I love craigslist.

I put an ad up today for a nice stainless microwave, "Great reliable microwave, but I don't need it anymore due to a kitchen remodel" bla bla bla...

First email response is:

My response back:
Quote:
Do you really give a shit why I'm selling it? Actually I'm selling because I can't stand to look at it any more knowing my ex-girlfriend microwaved my cat in it. But it is pretty clean so you wouldn't notice.

Poor nacho

What does "Special Order Rosewood Interior Package" mean?

That they didn't have it in stock at Pep Boys? Also he has an important muffler. That's important. Maybe a celebrity owned that muffler at one time.

The 63 sounds like a no brainer. Who doesn't want a few million dollars?

I love CL too...we posted my daughter's old mattress and bed frame on there with a title like "Ikea bed and Verlo mattress (single)"

There are also about 7 pictures of the frame and mattress.

First email I got..."what size is the bed?"

Ok... got 2 for ya... one CL:

I put my old single bed up for sale. I wasn't using it, never saw a use and it was taking up space. Very nice bed, made of cherry with a really good finish.

The first woman was a fucking space cadet. She is moving back to LA from somewhere were life just failed and needed a bed and this reminded her of one her grandma gave her as a child and this and that and she wasn't sure and more not sure and wanted to start life fresh and memories from grandma would stop her from being fresh and new... and I told her in an email, "look, it's a bed, you sleep in it. It isn't psycho analysis."

The next family pulled up, saw it, threw $100 at me and left with it. I began to think I under priced it...

When I sold my Prelude VTEC a dozen years ago, I posted it on the old hondaprelude.com site (dead and gone...), some punk-ass emails me:

"Is this a 2 door or 4 door prelude? and it it a manual or automatic?"

Well, dumbass... I was much nicer then... But this was basically my reply:

"Do some homework... all Preludes are 2 doors, and all prelude VTECs are 5spds and yes, the manual was noted in the ad."

Never heard back from Mr Dumb-punk-ass again. A few days later, a guy from NJ came down, plunked down $7k and left. Again, I was left wondering if I under priced it... but in that case, it was a 6 year old car with 174k miles on it and did need some love. I actually "right priced" it. About $1000 below private sale...

Craigslist rules. I've bought and sold my cars on there and probably every single used thing I own except for a few items off forum sites. The last used thing I purchased otherwise was my Corvette 10 years ago.

My F150 I sold for 16K on there, the guy that bought it (after 6 months of me trying to sell it elsewhere).. his first contact was a simple email with no punctuation or caps, or even a name. So you never know.
