Time for the "Sometimes Annual Guru Las Vegas Contest".
My wife and I will be at the Paris Casino next week and then traveling around Nevada and Arizona to visit some of her relatives. Might even head over to California for a bit.
Anyway - while at Paris I will wander over to the Roulette wheel and purchase a $10 chip and do a split bet (which pays 17 to 1).
The contest: Tell me your best (non X-rated) Corvette and lady story. I will read them and decide which one I think is the best. I will make the bet for the winner and send them a check for $170 if they win. The winner gets to pick the 2 numbers that I place the $10 chip on. Contest ends at midnight EST on Wednesday, January 23 and I will place the bet at the Paris Casino and Resort some time on January 28. I will take a pic of the result if the casino will allow me to do so.
See this site for instructions on how to place roulette bets:http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/las-vegas-how-to-play-roulette.html
I will give an example of a Corvette story that is related to a lady. Shortly after purchasing my 1965 black convertible I parked in the local McDonalds parking lot and went inside to buy my favorite meal of a burger/fries/chocolate milk shake. Now this was in the mid 60s so there was no seating inside - just a counter to order and pick up at - they did not even have drive-thrus yet (yes, I AM an old fart). I returned to the top-down vert only to discover 2 young ladies seated in my car and asking for a ride home! Well sir, let me tell you that this turned into quite a night! As a gentleman I cannot really give explicit details ifyaknowwhatImean ;)
So, I will now sit back to enjoy and judge your stories.
Oh yeah, as fellow Gurus those of you reading about these escapades must swear on your favorits Corvette's hood that you will never divulge them to any wives and/or girfriends of the story tellers. If you divulge them then your Corvette might develop a mysterious underhood fuel leak and burn to the ground.

best non-x-rated story? Simple... the story of how bastet44 and I met on the old corvetteforum...

She posted, 50 leg humpers replied, I actually answered her questions (I looked at her location and was like "where is Torrance?", I had heard of it - Honda is here - actually did a map search!), and that lead to email... pm's... phone calls... That all started in March 03, we met that June, I moved out here in June 04, and we married in Nov 05.

How's that for a good Corvette/girl story?

Gotta wait for the deadline and then for the winner to choose the numbers and then for the roulette wheel to spin.

My corvette / lady story:

I have a sweet little blonde that loves to go for rides in the Vette when I take the top off.

Sure you get a lot of looks when there's a pink princess car seat sitting next to you, but I wouldn't trade having that one in the front seat for any other gal. Going and getting a slurpee with daddy in the "broom-broom" car is one of her favorite things.

Yes, it's my daughter. And she's 4, so if there are any negative comments, I will ban you. Seriously.

I think this year my son will be old enough to go, he'll be 2 1/2 over the summer and already weighs as much as my 4 1/2 year old now. He loves the car as much as she does.

My wife was working a plant show locally and I was just getting ready to go for a cruise in the 90 vette. She asked me to pleeeeaaaasssee bring her out a certain tree for a buyer. Not wanting to give up my cruise time, I took off the vette's top, stood the tree in the passenger seat and slowly drove the tree to the plant show. I got in my cruise and she got her tree delivered. It just so happens it was a female tree and BillH has a pic to prove it.

I know, I know. Not prize eligible.

did you buckle it in?

I did the same thing once with a tree in my Prelude... opened the sunroof, out popped a tree.

Or the time I brought a Christmas tree home in the back of my Vette...

Well, you probably guessed it - Matt lost. I lost too. I put money on Matt's chosen numbers and then I put $10 on number 34 for myself (wife and I married in 68 which is 34 x 2). I explained to the table operator at the Paris Casino why I picked that number and then the other 4 folks that were playing also put money on 34. We all lost our money as the ball landed on 2.
Guess I won't become a professional gambler any time soon.
I did see some nice Corvettes on the road and got to race around the Arizona desert in my brother-in-law's new Bombadier RZR. It just seats 2 and had no windshield so we had to wear goggles. That sucker can fly and it fishtails when he punches it in 2wd. Good thing we were wearing racing-style harnesses as he was hitting 60mph at times.
Anyone ever take the mountain road from Oatman to Kingman, AZ? Freaking awsome with lots of major switchbacks, hairpin turns and spectacular views! We were in our rental Dodge Charger and it handled ok but would have been a real hoot in a Vette!

So ........ You could have picked the 2 or you could have picked the 34 and you picked the 34. You almost had it Ron. How much do I need to put on a number to get $50,000.

Not too sure of the roulette odds but there are 34 numbers plus 0 so I think you would have to bet $1,470 to win $50,000.
I did win money on the Super Bowl. I put $50 on the Ravens with the 49ers favored by 4 points. I mailed the slip to the sports place at Paris with my name and address. They are supposed to send me a check for $95 plus change. Shoulda bet $1,000. I did pretty good on the slot machines and gave my winnings to my wife who promptly lost it all

Planning to drive out West this Fall if the funds are there. Taking the Lake Express from Michigan to Green Bay where our youngest son lives. Then driving through the Northern states to visit my wifes previous home in Walla Walla and down to San Jose. We will fly to Maui for a week and then return to drive the car to Torrance to see her sister and then drive the Southern states back to Oklahoma to see another sister and then back to Michigan. Retirement is nice!
To quote Winnie the Pooh, "Nothing to do.... Nothing to do...What a wonderful thought".
Trouble is that there is always something to do. While we were gone our kids installed all new wood flooring in our home after ripping up the old carpet. We just spent 3 days moving all our crap from the basement and the garage back in to the house. Just spent most of today cleaning up the garage where they dumped all the old flooring, carpet and padding. Loaded it all up in my truck for a trip to the county dump on Monday.
Warning - don't let your wife get hooked on the remodeling shows like mine did!
By the way - we looked at some homes in Kingman, Arizona where the prices are great and the weather is beautiful. It is close to where the dune buggy sister and brother-in-law live in Golden Valley. WAY different than Michigan where I just had to snow blow 8" of snow!

Roger that! My brother in law who lives there told me the whales have been in the South Bay quite a bit lately. Have you seen them? He says you can actually see them from the beach road.

Milburn. It is near Tishamingo (where Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert live). My brother in law has a gentleman's ranch there where he has a collection of 50s Fords quietly rusting away.
