Good afternoon, all.

I drove my mom down to one of her aunt's viewing/funeral, leaving on Friday morning and bringing her back on Saturday afternoon. My wife pointed out that her 2012 is our best long distance vehicle, so we should take that. I said thank you - and did.

It was snowing on Friday morning when we left the Philadelphia area, but Louis was unfazed due to his snotty all-weather Michelin Pilot Sports. I avoid Interstate 95 on Fridays, so we took the long way around to the Washington, DC suburbs - out the Pennsylvania Turnpike to US 15 and than down through Gettysburg, Fredericksburg, and Leesburg.

Louis attracted attention, both on the road and with my relatives in Falls Church. It was a fairly relaxed set of events (my great aunt made it to 104) so I think a black Corvette was an easy topic. On the way back, we chanced it on 95 and the northern trip went pretty well.

I haven't done a Corvette road trip with my mom in quite a while (and never in the new car). It was good to have some extended time alone with her - I'm not sure how many road trips the two of us have remaining.

Sorry about your Mom's aunt....the changes she saw in that 104 years...wow. Your post was a good reminder for me to get down to see my Mom before the big spring rush hits. Her and my step dad are both 90 and so far doing very well.

I would like to ask you if those are the ZP A/S Michelin's and what sizes they are? I would love to have the A/S P2's for my GS but they apparantly do not come in the sizes I need for my car. I had those on my C5 and loved them.

You must be referring to the two headless horsemen, Tommy and Bill. I don't judge, Tommy, so don't be afraid to come out to the world.

I was just eating some crackers and Brie and the thought just crossed my mind. Who was the first guy to eat Brie?

Man: I'm hungry.

Boy: Well what do we have?

Man: Just this moldy cheese.

Boy: Well I'm hungry too. Try it.

Man: First I'd better drink some of this wine.

Boy: I'll have some.

Man: This stuff ain't all that bad when you've got a buzz.

Boy: Can I have another glass of wine please?

We have the ZP A/S Michelins on both the 2003 and the 2012 and we've been very pleased with them. Availability of all-season run-flats was why we went with a C6 narrowbody instead of the (very appealling) Grand Sport. My perception is that there aren't enough daily driven GSs out there for Michelin to see an opportunity ...

My Mom has actually traveled in the 1985, but never for that long a trip and it was a couple of years ago.

I agree....and it's frustrating to only have summer tires to work with if you don't intend to track....and the cost is double for the ZP tires because the supply is limited. I am considering the Potenza Pole Position RFT's but will end up going with the Michelin's for 600 more bucks..they are the best.

Weird little corner the GS has gotten painted into.....

My mom wasn't a big fan of driving my C4 although she would when I lived with her and mine was the last one in the driveway and she had to go to work. Dudes she worked with saw it one day expecting this hot chick to crawl out and there was my short little 70 year old mamma! She'd ride in it, though. I took her out in it a few times. I wish she was here to see the C5 and this Sierra 4X4 I have now. Really wish my daddy was here to see those also. He would like them also.
104 years is incredible. Many changes to see. Very sorry for your loss.
Nothing much here today but rain. visited a friend's shop and ended up messing around with a 1962 Sears Silvertone or something like that. Got the radio part playing then figured out what was the matter with the record player and while they were putting a Freightliner Coronado back togther out back I had a nice cold one listening to my efforts on the record player in the form of Hank Sr's "Your Cheatin' Heart".... then came home for a nap
