Pretty high-tech for back then, indeed. When I was a kid, a neighbor had a C3 with a Mako Shark body - sharp-looking car, and I don't ever recall seeing another one in person.

I stood looking at it for a half hour in August at Laguna Seca. It wasn't even roped off.

The clam shell hood finally made it in the C4 and the mechanical WW cover ups in the early C3's....Where was the shifter in that thing Bill? She is starting it with a key on the console but I never see her shift it....

The spoilers that come up at speed are in use now on the high end stuff.....pretty cool I would like to get the chance to crawl around on it......

Sitting beside the Mako was the Manta Ray.

There were so many rare and unique Corvettes there, mind boggling (I didn't post pics though).
