Brett Bodine had to pull down on the to the apron after radioing in: "Tower, we're on fire." Chevrolet attributed the fire to a "purpose-built auxiliary electrical kit to operate the numerous caution lights during the race." While it is certainly comforting to current and future owners of the V-8 powered sports sedan, it certainly didn't help their rep. |

Glad it wasn't a Corvette pace car.....you know I don't really like that SS car....it's not a looker in my book, I'm sure it runs fast but I still think they need an Impala SS...I like the way that car looks....
