SDPC has been spreading the word about a find they made. I don't
see any mention of it here, but thought it would be of interest.

"SDPC has found a gold mine. We have acquired 33 LT1 complete
off-the-assembly-line crate engines. Perfect for your Camaro, Firebird,
Corvette, Impalla SS, or street rod. These engines may require the use
of your original oil pan, front cover, waterpump, and a new timing set if
you have a 92-94 vehicle. Comes complete intake to pan."

33, eh?

I talked to Chris May a few weeks ago about just this subject. He found 3 sitting in a wearhouse somewhere over a rainbow.

He could get me one at $4800, plus shipping.

My concern? They have been sitting for at least 12 years... I wonder what condition the rings and cylinder walls are in?

Seems pricy to me.

Agreed. $4200? Seems like you could take one with mileage and spend that kind of money to add forged internals and add some horsepower.

Is there much of a market for factory original LTx cars?

interesting find. I bet it would be a good investment if you'd hold onto them for say 10 to 15 more years. I'd question their condition as well. Are these wrapped in plastic or in a container? I'd hope it's more than just sitting on a pallet with plugs in the ports and other holes.
