The Dow ind. rose 207.53 points yesterday. There was hope that MBIA is going to make it.

Obama raised 32 million in contributions for January. Clintons Jan. contributions didn't report. This Tuesday will be a big day for both.

The senate finance panel passed a stimulus plan that includes tax brakes for renewable energy and struggling businesses but is unlikely to win approval by the full senate.

In a French twist, the infamous trader gets hero treatment....The trader who lost 7.2 BILLION dollars for a French bank, hasn't lost his job but was told not to come to your office. He has been treated like a cult celebrity.

Have a great day.

I'm another one who's perfectly happy with my Bose system. It sounds great and works great and if it ever breaks, I'll have it fixed. All of the after-market radios I see these days have a million stupid little buttons that I can't see and have no idea what they do. I'd have a wreck just trying to adjust the volume.
A friend of mine bought a pair of '69 Barracuda fastbacks yesterday for a good price and I went to help haul them home. Enough there to make a nice one and there's a good 340 engine to boot. I looked at a solid and straight '66 Fairlane hardtop yesterday too. I'm thinking a good candidate for a street freak, replica mid 60s A/FX car with altered wheelbase, straight axle, etc..... I'd probably put a Chevy in it just to piss off the hard-core Ford guys.

As a runner, we often have a few beers after our morning run on the week-ends (beer at 7:30am). :thumbleft:

Gasoline closed yesterday at just under $91 a barrel. The job market is questionable. Unemployment is stable but companies are not putting on any new employees. Lower interest rates are helpful but still a way to go for the housing market before housing becomes affordable again. Most young Americans today don't have a clue what roughing it really is. There is a lot of fat in many peoples budget that could be trimmed. All I'm going to say is live and learn.

Tommy, there is a secondary positive effect to the bad job numbers report of this morning...oil dropped to 88.65 per barrel.

Only $38.65 to go before it gets down to where we would all be happy. I doubt that it will ever happen.
